12 megapixel HTC Trophy floating around, running Mango?

The ever enigmatic Eldar Murtazin has just tweeted two photos, purported to be of the HTC Mazaa, a device which we have so far identified as the CDMA HTC Trophy.

The handset differs however in one important aspect. According to Eldar, and the twitpics he uploaded, the handset appears to feature a 12 megapixel camera and featuring such niceties as raw image capture, usually reserved for high end cameras.

Of note is also that the handset appear to be running a later version of Windows Phone 7, likely Mango, as the camera interface features an arrow on the lower left absent from the current post-NoDo build but present in the Mango Emulator.

It seems unlikely HTC would re-release the Trophy with updated specs. An alternate explanation would be that HTC is using old shells for testing handsets to reduce the impacts of leaks just like those from Eldar.

So i guess, we can now confidently include ‘Save Camera Settings’ & ‘RAW Capture’ as part of the new features included in Mango?

Lets hope HTC is indeed using old shells for testing handsets to reduce the impacts of leaks, ’cause I can’t see a front-facing camera on this device.

I think I heard somewhere that front-facing cameras will be optional for Mango – which means that some devices will have them, and some budget ones (like updated Trophy perhaps) won’t.

this is probably stupid, but I dont remember seeing a save settings option before… does this mean this solves the problem with resetting to low res?

has this been announced? must have missed this. Am happy to see this.

It was mentioned many times already
Even in current beta emulator the settings are saved.

Knowing HTC, I bet it will be a 12MP with a plastic lens and a mediocre sensor, which will make the picture quality even worser.

A good APN supposes not only a real glass lens (Carl Zeiss if possible) but also a good sensor. The rest is only pure marketing bullshit.

It’s interesting not only 12MP & Raw Capture but also “Anti-banding”, “Exposure Metering Mode”, “Exposure Compensation” settings.
Current WP7 phones doesn’t have these features. It looks like high-end or DSLR camera.
