You're right... That's why probably I'll go with a Touch Diamond 2 now and not with the Omnia 2 when it will arrive in Italy. I think that the new TF3D (and leaked version 2.5) is better than Samsung UI.

The interface is much better than default. Not as good as TF but it seems ok.
It's just that i'd like to see how file manager ,mail/messaging, file transfer over bluetooth look instead of all the widgets, cover-flows, and cubes which seem pretty pointless and unusable. Samsung does great job trying to improve WM usability but falls into a trap of attempting to do something flashy and eye catching instead of concentrating on sheer usability. I like HTC's approach more. It's way more elegant. Samsungs take is still very messy too colorful and inconsistent. They should focus on one solution and go in one direction. They have their trademark Touch-wiz. Why wouldn't they develop this further?. It seems waste of resources from my experience with original Omnia. Apart from being relatively pretty widgets allow you to do virtually nothing. And i think widgets could be usable if more thought and work would be put into them.

I’d love this phone but it seems to be quite sluggish when it comes to Audio and Video Gallery.
Maybe retail version will be better.

I totally agree, just wandering if the low 256mb ram is to blame??? I thought you needed a minimum 256mb raw for Win Mobile 6.5.

Nice one Samsung, thats how you do a mark II phone, not like HTC's incremental upgrades at premium cost.
