HD2 now available on T-Mobile (UK)

You can now get the T-Mobile HD2 from here.

This puts T-Mobile ahead of O2 for actually releasing it, though I swear they never announced it…

It’s free on a 24 month £35 a month contract, and £195.73 on an 18 month £15 a month contract. It’s by no means cheap, but it is at least competitive with more fruity phone prices (as far as I can tell).

Let us know if you’ve got one, or it’s full of bloatware! :D

195GPB and only 18 P/m with 100mins. WOW. It's WAY cheaper than the iPhone and I think that I am officially jumping in! I will have to wait for O2 though, just for the chance to retain the broadband's price reduction.

    CANT WAIT!

mobilephonesdirect have the same deal but you get 3 months free insurance with it and you get an unlocked phone without the tmobile theme.

    Are tmobile phones locked?!

As far as I'm aware, all contract phones are locked. if you get it through a company like mobilephonesdirect then they just get unlocked phones and put a tmobile sim card in them. The phones bought through tmobile also have the tombile rom while the mobilephonesdirect ones don't. the tmobile rom hasn't changed much but I've heard they have restricted some network settings which has caused problems for some people.

I'm trying to choose between those exact two deals at the moment. I was thinking of going for the T-Mobile one because I thought then it would be easier to sort out if I had problems – by taking it to a T-Mobile shop or whatever. But are you saying you would definitely go for the MobilePhonesDirect one instead? Do you have any more details or links about what T-Mobile have done to the HD2 ROM to make it worse? Thanks very much for the info!

Well I'm trying to weigh up the advantages and disadvantages. on one hand you'll get much better customer service with tmobile but then you lose the insurance and have to get a locked phone with the tmobile rom. I've heard that people have had issues convecting to the internet or with push email using the tmobile settings and if you go to the page then it just says they've been preconfigured and can't be changed.

I cant find the thread on xda right now but i think they may have found a way around it. I think i'll probably take a gamble and go with mobilephonesdirect since it seems to have more advantages than tmobile.

Are they CID locked too? Because I will get rid of the stock rom pretty fast.

But I cant seem to find any info about contracts on the net and I doubt that my "local" O2 shop will be of any help. Btw, does O2 also alter the ROMs of their phones?
