Dagi Transparent Stylus for the HTC HD2

dagi2

dagi1 We’ve received a pair of Dagi Transparent Styli thanks to Dagi Corporation, which we’ll be putting through their paces.

From the website, they’re advertised as:

      • Transparent sensing head
      • Power free
      • Easy to aim at the small icon
      • Easy to play games
      • Accuracy
      • Slide smoothly
      • Sensitivity and light action force
      • Easy to do handwriting
      • Easy to edit: Cut / Copy / Paste
      • Easy to browse website
      • Suitable Drawing / Pen Memo
      • Suitable the user with fat finger / long nail

First impressions are surprisingly good, I didn’t think a stylus would make any real difference to a screen as monstrous as the HD2s, but they make things like notes a lot easier!

Are there any applications you are particularly interested in seeing these styli with?

  • i ordered two of their styli last week. got the thin flat one and the one similar to a resistive stylus. they should get here this week some time. my HD2 arrived today and i am extremely happy with it but i could really do with a stylus.

OT: i haven't done any tweaks yet but i only have a couple of problems. first is the keyboard. i don't like the portrait one because while it's responsive it's too small to use two handed and too big to use single handed. second is that the music tab keeps freezing the device while it scans the library every time i go onto it. last is the pink camera spot but i don't really care too much.

  • You could change the keyboard to say 20 key instead of QWERTY? How much music do you have? It might just be chugging away slowly in the background.

Yeah any application to draw (like vspainter I think is the name…) just to see if we can draw like on the htc diamond ;p

  • I'm not worried about the keyboard as I'll set it so i can use landscape later. i have quite a lot of music and it's all on a cat 4 storage card. i solved the problem by removing the music tab because i doubt I'll use it anyway.

The notes app is one i use reasonably regularly on my diamond. Cheers.

does this mean the blogosphere will stop deriding windows mobile phones for routinely including a stylus, that you don't have to buy separately?

Why does it have the silly reflex sight thing on the end?….it look's like you have to hold it at a certain angle/orientation which would be a pain ?

It need to have a reasonably large end for the conductive area for the capacitive screen. HTC have filed a patent a while ago for a more classic looking stylus that uses magnets to work. Anyway its see-through because it makes it more accurate to use than a 10mm solid blob. See here for comparison : http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=10565

I'd be interested in seeing how they fare with handwriting recognition with regards to smoothness and accuracy: both the built-in SIP (if it's there) and Calligrapher, which I currently use on my Advantage. Ta.

A friend of mine uses an iPhone and was worried about gloves this winter. Sent him to his remote, had him pop out the AAA battery. Problem fixed for free. Use the flat(-) end and buy me a beer with the money you save.

    Just my $0.03
