IE6 on 6 previewed
The Internet Explorer 6 update to Windows Mobile is the only anticipated update to Windows Mobile coming over the next few months. This update itself has been expected by now, and itself appears delayed.
TheUnwired however now has some proof that the update does actually exist and appears to be coming close to release. The screenshots, visible at theunwired.net, shows the browser rendering the website both in mobile and desktop mode and the method of switching the mode. Unfortunately the browser does not seem to have caught any of the style from its main competitor, Opera Mobile, and still features prominent scroll bars and seems to be only single tabbed.

I’m sure when the browser is officially unveiled and shown in action, it will be pretty decent.

Remember, Microsoft is planning to bring the full IE 6 to Windows Mobile, with tabbed browsing and flash to name a few.

IE6 did not have tabs…

Oops. I apoligize for that. But I’d say based on the leaks, tabbed browsing may be on it’s way, and the reported delay on Windows Mobile 7 makes it all the more believable. Microsoft has already somewhat confirmed Windows Mobile 7 with the Live Mesh commercial, so I won’t put it past them.

With IE “6 on 6″, they already have Apple eating their dust. Now all that remains is promotion of it.

Current internet Explorer Mobile version: 7.11
so it will be the first case of numbering newer versions *backwards*
Also PIE always had tabbed browsing (numerous “add-ons” for PIE that do that exist since Windows Mobile 2003, i.e. PIEPlus).
And lastly IE6 also had tabbed browsing, either with help from unofficial add-ons or with “official” Msoft’s own (for IE6 on WinXP only though).
Your article, as usual, is full of incorrect informations, and for “WM Power User” you know very little.

@ 888
C’mon don’t be like that.

888, if there are any factual errors I am happy to fix them.
