Samsung has continued to show their commitment to their Omnia smartphone by releasing regular updates for the smartphone. The latest version to leak, DXHL1, features many new widgets, and appears to include the ability to download even more from Yahoo.
New Features :
- New Favorite Settings
- Customize widget (Show/Hide widget)
- AccuWeather widget
- Yahoo Finance widget
- CNN widget
- Google Search widget
- New Opera build 15233
- Samsung Mobile Blog
- and some more.
The update is a beta and not stable, and exclude some functionality like streaming media, so its not recommended for general use, but it does help to show the direction Samsung is taking.
See Modaco.com for more info and also for the download (if you dare).

Seriously, just look at that – it’s totally unusable for more than 3 “widgets”.

I dont know, I can fit in at least 5
But you are quite right – either the widgets need to be smaller, or the screen a lot bigger, to get full use of the feature. Having used an Omnia however I must add for a few widgets, the feature actually works very well, and is a lot of fun to use.

I have M2D versions, and verisons with chinese SIP. I make clean ROMs, but i will on request (and a donation) make individual ROMs.
