WunderRadio -New streaming radio service for Windows Mobile

RadioTime and Weather Underground today announced they are bringing their iPhone internet radio application, powered by RadioTime’s extensive guide, to the Windows Mobile platform.

WunderRadio Windows Mobile enables listeners to browse 50,000 AM/FM and internet radio stations by local radio, location and over 400 genres of music, talk, news, sports and entertainment programs. Users can set presets for faster tuning to their favorite stations and use the RadioTime Guide to automatically detect what is airing on their local stations, browse by affiliates like the BBC or AOL Radio, and search for specific programs or on-air personalities, not just station call letters.

WunderRadio for Windows Mobile features a today screen plug-in, which enables users to view “now playing” program and song information and select their favorite presets on the device’s main screen instead of having to open the application.

The application also supports Real Networks streams providing access to many streams not available on other applications.

BBC listeners will appreciate that RadioTime has now integrated “now playing” information with the BBC’s content systems for more accurate descriptions of what is airing at a specific time. BBC Listen Again on-demand programs are also available on the WunderRadio Windows Mobile and WunderRadio iPhone applications.

The application will be available on January 15, 2008 for a 30-day promotional price of $9.99 USD from Jeyo.com and other online mobile device and applications retailers. The price will be $14.99 when the promotion ends, significantly more than the $5.99 the application costs on the iPhone.

It might be useful to note that all of those radiostations are available on Radiotime’s mobile website, which conveniently has an awesome browsing experience using pocket IE. Changing stations is as simple as a D-pad flick.

Chris, thank you very much for Radiotime! I’ve been looking for a way to listen to local online stations on WM smartphones for 3 years (that is, since I got my first one).
    Thanks again!
