Motorola FR68 and FR6000: A worker’s dream

Motorola today revealed two new rugged Windows Mobile handsets for the Asian market. The FR68 (left) and the FR6000 (right) aim to help the Asian region in retail, health care, logistics, transportation, public utilities, and similar lines of work, effectively raising the work efficiency.

The two handsets, besides being huge, they are 3.5G compatible, incorporate an internal GPS receiver, Bluetooth, IrDA, Wi-Fi, a Marvell XScale PXA312 624MHz processor, a 320×240 QVGA screen and an OCR capable camera at 3.2 mega-pixels.

The most interesting thing in the announcement, its not the devices themselves, but the service that Motorola includes with the phones. Apparently, buyers of the FR68 or FR6000 will enjoy free maintenance services through the year by Motorola, in order to keep the device in the best possible condition. Obviously, having your phone serviced every now and then is a great thing, but in this case, one can only hope that Motorola will survive a few more months.

I have to admit it though. The FR68 sure looks good on a worker, especially on workers like the one on the right. Do you agree?
