Lovely looking device, I especially like the thickness… Not so sure about the big borders – unless they are touch sensitive.
But why do UI designers insist on such small control icons when people then go and use fingers to navigate/control. Even on this big screen the user has visible difficulty hitting the buttons – especially the ones next to the clock. Designers need to realize that people have big fat fingers and design the UI accordingly. Even things like the TouchFlo3D interface on the HTC devices falls down when you need to click the close button or do anything more complex.

I agree.
All that space and ultra small icons = fail
This had better be ultra-beta waiting for some major updates/changes, or they’ll have a lot of frustrated people with all the extra taps and mistaps.
That “x” button really needs to go

This video is a lot better than the video posted on WMExperts/Engadget – in that video, the demonstrator had a LOT of trouble trying to press the tiny icons next to the clock/calendar, and the interface seemed to struggle with him at every turn. The animations and transitions look nice and smooth, but the UI looks ugly and useless (in my opinion, of course). I wonder how TF3D would look on this puppy? Probably pretty sweet.

Screen is too big, i never thought i’d say that but i think we have reached a point where anything bigger than the Touch HDs 3.8″ Will just make it look like a Mediaplayer and make it, as a phone, very cumbersome.
