Windows Mobile 6.5 on the HTC Touch HD in video
Thank you Zellbz from our comment attention for tipping us off to this video of the Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM running on the HTC Touch HD. The one feature that struck me immediately is the smooth scrolling present in the UI.
Does anyone else see anything they like there? Let us know in the comments.

Yeah you’re right about the scrolling (it’s incredbily smooth!!
). We still haven’t seen Pictures and videos though. IE looks choppy as hell, but I’m guessing it’s because it’s a leaked unstable version. It did afterall, look stunning in the Toshiba TG01 ad. Monday can’t come soon enough!

The scrolling is still TouchFlo. The real WM6.5 scrolling is A LOT smoother than that!
I’ve tried that ROM and it’s great. It’s still slow because of the debug code but I love the new today screen and honeycomb menu, I love IE8, I love the scrolling and the new design and finger-friendly menus are very nice.
They’ve not changed the built-in applications like Mediaplayer or the calendar yet. Perhaps they’re going to make them more finger-friendly, too, but that’s not something we can expect from a minor release (it would be nice, though – let’s hope they’ll show us even more on Monday).

That video. How come in some menus, the dividing line between the tabs is straight(the current) while some are not(the new style)?

That’s not smooth at all. Watch the stylus – the guy has to double-take all the time, and accidentally presses buttons on the honeycomb menu. Speaking of stylus, it requires one, which also sucks. “finger friendly” doesn’t help if you have to whip out a stylus once you get to the app. I know debug code can be slower, but I’m worried there are still some systemic problems in this..
