HTC Leak 2009 part 2 – the details!
We have just received a tip regarding HTC’s 2009 line-up which includes details on a number of upcoming devices.
First, the exciting ones:

The HTC Whitestone will have a 3.6 inch WVGA screen, 5 megapixel camera, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, run on Windows Mobile 6.1 and have a Qualcomm 7600 processor running at 528 Mhz. The device will have both GSM and EVDO and debut on the Verizon network in September.

The Firestone is a GSM/3G device, the real successor to the HTC Touch HD, and also feature a 3.6 inch WVGA screen, HTC’s first 8 megapixel camera, 256 MB RAM/512 MB ROM, run on a Qualcomm 8250 processor at 600 Mhz and be powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.
This powerhouse is expected in August 2009.

Next, the Thoth is clearly the Athena successor. The Thoth feature a 4.8 inch WVGA screen, a 5 megapixel camera, 256 MB RAM/512 MB ROM, run on a Qualcomm 8250 processor at 1000 Mhz (!) and be powered by Windows Mobile 6.5.
Expect this device to be announced in September 2009.
Now to less exciting devices.

The Twin is a dual CDMA/GSM device, with a VGA screen, 3.2 megapixel camera, 256 MB RAM/512 MB ROM, run on a Qualcomm 7501A processor at 528 Mhz and also a TI Locosto processor . The Twin is expected to launch July 2009 on China Telecom.
Finally, the Maple.

We have already seen this device, with its 2.4 inch QVGA screen, 2 megapixel camera, and Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. What’s new is the internal specs. It runs on a Qualcomm, 7225 processor at 528 Mhz, and has 128 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM and is expected in May.

The Cedar is a similar device to the Maple, but for CDMA networks and was meant to debut on Verizon in June, but may have been cancelled.

Good news for T-Mobile USA subscribers is that, besides the Maple which is heading their way in May 2009, they are also getting the HTC Touch Pro 2, code-named Rhodium, around the same time.

I think Firestone could use the recently announced MSM7227 – which we know is a 600MHz part, supports WVGA, 8MP camera, and will be in devices in 2H’09. Qualcomm have never talked about clocking Snapdragon at less than a GHz.

[...] WMPoweruser.com reported earlier on the leaked releases of these, but now we get to see what AT&T is actually getting. Its good to see that we get the Thoth and Whitestone… Seeing all the Windows Mobile 6.1 out there makes me think that they are coming out soon. I am very curious about the Star and SuperStar… And I am VERY intrigued by the NVIDIA AP16 chipset. It is also good to see all the WVGA screens coming out, but I’d like to see more storage/RAM and more speed out there like the Thoth! Stay tuned for some more great phones coming out! Hey Guys all these phone are very nice but one thing is the talking hrs and standby hrs of these phone are just only 5 to 6 hrs. This is mainly because they use LCD with a back
Light source which consumes a lot of energy .
Most option solution for this is using a OLED Display these guys can barrow this technology from SONY or SAM SUNG who have already have done a lot of research in this field and have a working model also .
These OLED displays consumes only 10% compared to the existing LCD display so we could have better talk time and standby time and utilize smartphone for a lot of applications.
