Toshiba TG01 demo shows Qualcomm has power after all
I know some of our readers are already expecting to be disappointed by the performance of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in the Toshiba TG01.
Hopefully the first 2 minutes of this YouTube video will allay their fears.
Now we have all seen (and been confused) by the stripes interface. I want to know why Toshiba doesn’t ship with the planetoid instead.
Make sure to watch the video in high quality at YouTube.

If you look closely you will see that the whole youtube video skipped few times which results in skipping video or graphic on the device.

I did watch it a few times and the skips were independent of any Youtube skipping by watching the surrounding.
At 2:03, 2:06, and 2:29 while showing the Watchmen promo video. Skipped in the same parts of the Watchmen video as far as I can tell also.

hmm for more thorough research I downloaded this video and tried too look for skipping and you’re right there may be some small skips at times you said (small framedrop?).
So now the question is: is it because of poor video performance? is it because of too high bitrate video (ex. 720p 10mbits)? is it because that showoff GUI is a masterpiece and needs optimization?
For now I’ll wait for some tests at SD and HD resolution.

If Qualcomm doesn’t include the software drivers ala HTC 3D drivers fiasco, then that video is moot?

Most of the Q devices have some sort of drivers now. It’s a question of does this have the real-world performance we expect from all the paper-stats PR blitz.
