Toshiba TG01 running Windows Mobile 6.5
There has been some concern whether the Toshiba TG01 would ever be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5, given that Toshiba never promised this, and have a notorious reputation for poor support of their amazing smartphones.
Well, this video, showing the TG01 running the OS, should go some way to allay those fears. While this is no guarantee that the update will be provided, at least we know Toshiba does have a build running in their labs.
Thanks Wishmaster for the tip.

It seems smoother than my touchpro running the latest rom. I really want a version of this device, but with a keyboard

Wow, that was pretty fast with no visible lag. Snapdragron iz really sumthing. Can’t wait to see 6.5 on a HTC SuperStar.

Lol it has nothing to do with GPU accell! THe chip is clocked @ 1ghz! So yeah it will run smoother than currrent devices. It’s called COMMON SENSE!

Yes it is!
But contrary to popular opinion the current MSM72XX chip isn’t bad when Devs really code for it! (see HTC’s lastest TF3D version on Diamond2/Pro2 and support for OpenVG). Need For Speed, Xtrakt etc…

How has it nopthing to do withthe GPU acceleration. The titanuim UI would almost be exclusively handled by the GPU considering its full of alpha blending etc.
Look at what it can do

As for the MSM72XX chip the problem has always been a driver issue. This was clearly shown as far back as the Kaiser issue. What developer wants to write software for a a particular processor. All HTC had to do was provide a driver that would give GPU accelerationn for DirectX. Then all your .nat apps etc would benefit fromthe GPU. According to SPB benchmark the graphics index for the touch HD is less than half of the Samsung Omnia. It will be interesting to see the benchmarks for these new devices.
Very smooth indeed!!!

but i cant understand WHY the XDA or HTC Diamond cant run as smooth as the Toshiba…….. i mean the HTC Diamond also have a GPU-Accelerator and a powerfull CPU………. ok, it only has 528 MHz instead of 1 GHz CPU. Nethertheless i think it should also be so smooth like on the Toshiba

This looks really sweet when will the diamond be that smooth? Is this a newer version?
[Reply]
the omnia has 624mhz!
and i CANNOT wait to load 6.5 on it!!!
[Reply]
ahhh yes. looks like theres no need to worry about snapdragon underperforming like everything else that is qualcomm
