Exchange Server 2010 and Outlook Mobile improvements get detailed
In a very informative post over at Technet, Mark from Microsoft detailed what features Exchange Server 2010 will bring to Exchange Activesync users on Windows Mobile.
Most interesting is that the Exchange server can actually push out a new version of Outlook over the air to Windows Mobile 6.1, meaning older devices wont be left out of the party.
Other useful features are SMS sync and the ability to send SMS messages from Outlook, threaded e-mail views, streaming and transcription of voice mail, and free and busy status views.
Manageability of mobile devices have also been improved, with the ability to blacklist devices and block whole classes of devices, meaning insecure backdoor devices like the iPhone 3G can be stopped even before they log on to the network.
For the full list of features see Technet here.

Some neat features, but would prefer the Windows Media team to figure out a way to allow full outlook functionality on a 6.1 or newer phone on MORE THAN ONE exchange account.
I currently use an exchange server for my own e-mail and would like to also have the ability to connect to my work e-mail at the same time with full functionality.

Doubtful you’ll see multiple exchange account support. That isn’t even supported in the desktop Outlook (even the upcoming Outlook 2010 lacks support for more than 1).
It just doesn’t make sense for them to invest time in that area.

Outlook 2010 supports more than one Exchange account per Profile – tested myself
Personally I think there is a lot of sense to invest time in that area and I think I’m not alone there. I would like to have my personal and company Exchange accounts synced with my WinMo. Both inboxes and calendars is something useful (overview of all personal and business appointments on one device without need to put my private appointments in corporate exchange). SharePoint support would be nice too (group calendars etc.)
For WinMo Team there are lot of things to do. Sometimes I think that Office Mobile is like an orphan child and not took enough care of
