Xperia X2 purported specs
According a Mobile-Review forum poster, and insider has leaked the purported specs of the new Sony Ericsson device.
Apparently the device will feature:
-8.1mpx auto focus, VGA @ 30fps (MP4 HQ)
-3.5´ WVGA OLED (increased from 3.0 from X1)
-GPS, aGPS
-3.5 mm headphone jack
-Accelerometer
-Faster processor
-512 RAM
-Custom Windows Mobile 6.5 (SE engineers customized Win6.5 which runs very. very speedy. in par with iPhone and better in some cases)
-XPERIA Panels are modified with plenty of innovative features (PS3 remote play being one of them)
-Upgrading to Windows Mobile 7 is supported by Xperia panels
If these specs are accurate the device would seem to be rather feature pack and correct much of the issues people had with the original Xperia. In fact, one could say the only thing holding back this device is its rather 90’s looks.
Good enough to give Sony Ericsson a second chance? Let is know in the comments.

NICE. If only it looked better.
HTC take note, we want upgraded specs! Not the same exact thing with a bigger screen!
Still buying the TP2 when it comes on AT&T though.

Lol, great way to void your point!
Whats the odds of this getting a US CDMA treatment… I know youre listening sony, let us americans in on the party! HTC IS KILLING US OVER HERE!
And whats up with “fast processor”, i really hope they invest in snap dragon or tegra or the omap 3, thatd make my day/week/month/year

wow…faster processor? snapdragon? 512 of RAM…thats f**king amazing. i’m not gonna lie, if i could get a touchpro2 w/ a snapdragon inside instead of the 528 its running with, AND 512 or RAM i’d easily pay an extra 100-150 bucks for it. Even if it were 299 on contract w/ att. Take note HTC….just like the iphone and its various sizes, if you make premium phones for people who like premium experiences…people will buy them, if given the choice. so take note, and as Peter said…should start making upgraded phones, not just the same damn thing w/ bigger screens.

How about better physical build quality?
X1 was a big letdown to me in this regard.

Sony Ericsson Japan made it, coz they have phones with Oled screen, and this has Oled too, so is Japanese!!! Japan is very good!!!

well dam if this thing has 512mb ram i hope this thing is released on t-mobile because im going to want this baby when it comes out. Thats rediculous having a phone with 512mb ram. Im sure its not going to have the qualcomm 528mhz processor if its running off 512mb ram because if it has that much ram its obviously shooting to be a more premium high end phone. This kicks the HTC Touch Pro2’s ass hardcore specs wise. I wonder if they’re crazy enough to throw in a dual core Snapdragon in there or maybe a nvidia tegra???

Nice.. still it’s a letdown for not having 720p video recording but viewing Omina HD video quality seems i wond miss a lot for now. D-pad + 512 meg’s of ram is a great thing,if it runs under 800$ unlocked i’m buying it.. heck WiMo 7 upgrade..

Love it besides the ugliness. But whats the point of 512mb of RAM? 256mb is plenty. Waste of battery.

My fear too.. this will be one chunky mofo. I know that HTC tried to keep TDP down but still with antiquated Qualcom controller my thumb is down. Luckily for us pro users there is now a wider range of forthcoming devices that keep the bar up.

The x2 does look promising but its WAY TOO BIG! Sony really messed up cutting off ties w/ HTC. Its likely that we won’t see any US carrier support.
I’m just curious about the price on the phone

This seems like the direct competitor of the i8910 (formerly known also as the Omnia HD.)
If SE is going to offer an upgrade to WM7, then this phone is gold.
It remains to be seen as to whether this phone will offer OMAP3, Snapdragon or Tegra. There are other processors out there that lack 3D graphics acceleration such as the Samsung or the Marvell line of processors (wonder why Sammy didn’t use their own in their phones).
This is currently top-of-my-list if the purported specs are true.

its not the greatest looking phone but its specs make it something special. the problem is SE took wayy too long to release the x1 from when it was announced or leaked to when it actually was put in hands. now if they can have this on shelves within the next 4-6 months it has a shot

It has a D-Pad! The lack of D-Pad is my biggest gripe with the TP2.
GO SE! GO SE!!!!

I agree with other’s comment here.. HTC should upgrade specs wise.. though introducing more WVGA is cool.. anyway.. HTC should prep devices with multi-touch support for WM7 now..
and i hope if X2’s giving a support to upgrade it to WM7 later.. they should have multi-touch support too.. cause thats what WM7 promises..

The X1 uses MicroSD, so I wouldn’t be surprised.
