Samsung Louvre – first pictures

Samsung_B7610_Louvre_1

GPSAndCo has published the first pictures of the mysterious Samsung B7610 Louvre, Samsung’s high-end landscape slider that has been rumoured since January this year.

The 4 row slider, as is usual these days, pretty well specified, with a 3.5 inch AMOLED WVGA screen, 5 megapixel camera with image stabilization and the usual HSDPA, wifi, bluetooth and GPS, all packed into only 1.6 cm thickness. It also features 1 GB Flash built in and a microSD slot, and Samsung seems to finally have abandoned their proprietary connector, opting for the more common miniUSB.

While the smartphone will still run Windows Mobile 6.1 it will feature Samsung’s usual overlay, and will be upgradable to Windows Mobile 6.5.

The smartphone is expected soon, and should be available in July on Orange Business and SFR Business Team. The device is expected to be aggressively priced at between €250  and €500

Aww you beat me to it.

The 16M colors might be the screen’s capability when it gets the 6.5 upgrade, but does sound fishy. What kind of processor and Ram does it have? Having closely monitored the details of the Pre, 3GS, TG01, and the promise of over a dozen new Androids running around this year, this has jumped to the lead for me. I have a SCH i760 at the moment that I really enjoy, and this looks like the first legit home team contender. I’m fine with Spb Mobile Shell if needed till 6.5. Sammy FTW!!!

This can’t be a Windows Mobile-phone, cause it’s got no Windows-key. And new WM-phones must have that, according to MS.
Sorry guys, we’re looking at an UltraTouch with qwerty I guess

the windows key could very well be on the right side of the ph. that’s where it is on my samsung. the omnia locates the windows key on the upper right as well (usually dual purpose to also activate voice control when held down).

  • The technology of today’s devices is true remarkable. Circuits are getting smaller and smaller. Talk about a mini information station equipped with everything out there! Good going Samsung
