Samsung Omnia 2 to be revealed 15th June?
Cellfanatic has connected the dots between Samsung’s Unboxing event on June 15th and the leaked Samsung Omnia 2 picture. On cursory examination the two devices look pretty similar, and when one actually does some superimposition they look exactly the same, with the same placement for the volume rocker, front facing camera, optical control pad and earphone.
If we do assume the devices are the same, the X-ray image also reveals the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the top left of the image, and of course the miniUSB port at the bottom.
With a 3.7-inch AMOLED WVGA screen display, 8.1-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and VGA video recording @ 30fps, the Samsung Omnia 2 appears to be what the Samsung Omnia was intended to be, without the proprietary ports and low resolution screen which held back the original device.
With this additional information, are any of our readers thinking of picking up this powerhouse? Let us know in the comments.

If the proprietary connector is gone, replaced with miniUSB and 3.5mm headphone jack, I’ll be the first to get one!

There is no front-facing camera on either model. That’s the light sensor.

Front facing cameras come standard in Europe. They are actually more likely than a light sensor.
