Samsung’s Windows Mobile devices to come with Midomi MusicID software
Samsung has partnered with MELODIS Corporation to include its Midomi music search and ID application into SAMSUNG’s Windows Mobile platform. This software allows users to identify music by holding the phone to a speaker as well as singing or humming in snippets.
Midomi will use its Sound2Sound Search Science technology which MELODIS claims provides an improved accuracy, faster response time and increased scalability.
“We are very pleased to partner with SAMSUNG to make our music search and ID technology available to Windows Mobile users," said Amir Arbabi, vice president of Business Development, MELODIS. "Midomi is a truly global product designed for deployment in multiple languages and on multiple platforms. SAMSUNG’s launch of Midomi-enabled handsets represents the first step in what we see as a long-term, worldwide collaboration between our two companies.”
Unfortunately MELODIS does not provide its own music store, but integrates with the wireless carriers’ music stores, allowing users to immediately and easily purchase the music they discover.
