First high quality rendering of the HTC Firestone
A new picture of the HTC Firestone has just dropped into our tips box. Our tipster confirms the capacitive screen, and as a media centric device it will have a externally accessible hot-swappable microSD card and large speakers in the front and back for audio playback.
The device is still expected to be released soon.
Thanks anonymous tipster!

I hope this is fake. The bottom is hideous and it looks like the last-gen devices.

I like it. Give it HDMI and camera shutter button and it will be almost perfect. Windows Mobile 7 update next year would make it complete
Can’t wait to see Firestone with slideout keyboard.

yuck! agreed, that thing could poke your eye out if not careful

This does introduce a very unique idea though – at least it seems that they would design it this way.
With speakers on both top and bottom, the phone could sense by the sensors which side is down, and then decide which side to play audio from. I’ve always hated audio coming out of the back when I’m trying to watch a tv show or movie – obviously I’m looking at the screen, and want audio to come AT my ears. We’ll see how it’s implemented, if it truly has dual-side speaker output.

the side view looks phothoshop and the front grilled speaker is bad

Again, the specs do not match the picture.
If you resize the picture to meet the size given in the specs, then the display is only 4.1″ or smaller and, mor important, the buttons and the speaker at the top are way too huge compared to those of the Touch HD.
Either the specs are wrong, or the picture is fake, or the phone on the picture is not the Leo.

It’s definitely not a real picture; take a look at the jagged lines in the side view.
Also, while this phone may be released soon, there’s no way it’s coming to the US for many many months. We don’t even have the TP2 or Touch Diamond2 yet. Ridiculous.

Then the US should stop using it’s own proprietary bands/systems for cellphones…

looks a little fat, don’t ya think?

Nice, but if all analog button are flat with frame, it be nicer.

Hope it comes with a Music Player that can handle thousands of songs… The Music Player in Manilla (TouchFlo 3D) unfortunately fails in handling that amount of songs.
If the speakers are as good as Nokia’s, I’ll be rushing out to get one (when it’s out, of course)!
