Skyfire open to everyone (for limited time only)
For a limited time only Skyfire, the only flash-enabled web browser for the Windows Mobile platform, is opening up to all comers (Edit:North American applicants only
). The browser, which now supports Silverlight, will now be accessible to all comers who use the special code “Michael8”, meaning Skyfire users can now watch all the streaming video from the Olympics. Skyfire says they did this to commemorate Michael Phelps’s monumental accomplishment of winning 8 Gold metals in a single Olympic games.
The code will only be valid from the 18th to the 30th August, so readers will have to move fast to take advantage of this advanced browser and finally experience the Real Web on their mobile devices.
To sign up visit skyfire.com with your mobile device.

Why do you say “available to all” and “open to everyone” if it is only for US residents? The US is not the world, you know??

In response to the many unhappy applicants from all over the world, I have edited the entry to reflect the sad situation that only Americans and Canadians have access to this great browser at present
Thankfully Skyfire has said they plan to expand worldwide eventually

I don’t think the beta 2 is available to anyone outside of the US. Canadians like myself is stuck with beta 0.6 . Regardless, it’s a great browser.
They send you a text message and if it’s a non-US number, you’re out of luck until they release it.

Does not support Proxy Server usage… T-MOBILE users with the WAP ($5-6) data plans cannot currently use this Beta. You can use it if your phone has Wifi support and access…
