Not that it was ever really in doubt, but after we have seen the amazing performance of the Tegra-powered ZuneHD it is nice to see confirmation that Windows Mobile 7 will indeed by powered by this amazing processor.

  • Well I don't think there was ever any doubt WM7 would run on the Terga platform. But is this article asserting that it will *only* run on the Terga? Is there evidence to this conclusion?

Is Terga better than Snapdragon? As far as I understand Terga has a beast GPU, but a 600mhz application processor which is not really much improvement over what we have. Snapdragon has a beast application processor and a pretty good GPU. I still have a sour taste in my mouth over how Qualcomm has screwed WM in the past few years but still.

But who says you can compare the 600MHz of the Tegra to the Snapdragon CPU? (see Core 2 Duo vs. P4). In Addition much of the CPU Power which was used for 2D and 3D-Graphics is now free and Tegra is even optimized for Audio-Playback.
And as Nvidia and MS really seem to be working together hope for a new and clean OS this time which isn't mainly based on the almost 5 year-old 5.0 as all recent releases had been.

  • "on Windows platforms including latest OS Windows Mobile 7"…..but windows mobile 7 is not out yet or even 6.5, thus the latest is 6.1. But in anycase, it seems that WM7 has reached at least a couple miles stones the building process. I can't help but think, why hasn't there been any leaks yet?

Graphics, sound, and battery life are better on the Tegra. The Snapdragon will have an advantage in the CPU area (possibly faster load times) but for entertainment purposes (Games, Music, Video), the Tegra will trump Snapdragon and OMAP3 in performance and battery life. I'd rather have blazing fast media performance within applications and wait an extra 1-5 seconds for a program to start up.

    That's nothing but conjecture.
