Sprint HTC Touch Pro ROM update released

sprint_tp_1 Despite the HTC Touch Pro 2 already being in wide release in USA, HTC have not forgotten about its predecessors. HTC has released a ROM update (ROM 2.01.651.6)  for the still relevant Sprint HTC Touch Pro which brings the following improvements.

  • TouchFlo 3D updated to improve speed and stability
  • Dialer application enhanced to improve the handling of incoming calls
  • Resolves an issue using the “r” and “w” keys on the virtual keypad
  • Improves contact searching performance
  • Includes a variety of minor bug fixes

See HTC’s page here for the download and flashing instructions.

Thanks Mike Kellogg for the tip.

  • I hope these fixes find their way into an update of MightyROM. I've been on WM 6.5 for a while now and have no plans to go back. But I'm always happy to see bug fixes integrated into the unofficial ROMs. :-)

This ROM made my Touch Pro kinda suck… I can no longer select multiple e-mails with the stylus, and I have to open and close my text messages over and over again if I have multiple. It's performance kinda dipped too, especially with SPB Mobile. I don't think I like this ROM.

RCESM, is right – They will have to came out with a fix to fix the ROM update. I have HTC Touch Pro, and it made it a little faster but there are a lot of other things that just don't work. The phone was better before I updated it. The text messaging problem is a big one for me.

I’m done with this ROM… It’s ultimately slowed my phone to a crawl, and I’m tired of having to select and re-select text messages etc.

Can I roll the ROM back, or reinstall the old ROM over the new one?
