Toshiba K01, K02 and L1 spotted at CEATEC
Akihabaranews has visited the Toshiba stand at CEATAC and has spotted some Windows Mobile handsets we have last seen on only on Toshiba’s roadmap.
First we have the Toshiba K01, a QWERTY slider with a 4.1 inch screen and only 15mm thick, with a capacitive touch screen WM 6.5. From older roadmaps this one is set to drop around the end of Q4 2009.
The Toshiba K02 has a 3.5 inch WVGA resistive screen, clamshell form factor with an external screen and 10 key keyboard and runs Windows Mobile 6.5. This smartphone was meant to arrive early next year.
Lastly we have the 7 inch Toshiba L01,which is closer to a tablet than a smartphone. Still running Windows Mobile 6.5, the WVGA screen is meant to do duty as a digital photo-frame. The MID-type device was meant to come the end of this year.

Looking at that K01 keyboard and thinking about the Touch Pro 2 keyboard and the great reviews it has received I'd say Toshiba came up with what appears to be a keyboard in need of a major revamping. Fail.

The K01 seems to have smaller bezel around the screen than TG01 so it'll probably be smaller but thicker due to the keyboard.
I hope that they will upgrade the keyboard cause for now it doesn't seem too user friendly on this front TP2 is the king.
If they maintain USB host and add 3,5mm jack and microHDMI out it would make it a killer. Oh and official WM7 is a must. Without it they can just wait for WM7 and release it Q7 2010! The same goes for HD2!
Updated CPU from qsd8250 to msm8260 would be too much to ask for :p
