New ZuneHD firmware brings support for 3D games and apps, more
Things have quieted down a bit on the ZuneHD front, but that does not mean Microsoft has been sitting still.
The ZuneHD team has just released version 4.3 of the ZuneHD firmware, which brings support for 3D applications and games. The previous version of the Zune and Xbox programming environment did not support 3D hardware acceleration, which is hopefully fixed by this update.
The video above also shows some keyboard improvements in action.
The rest of the changelog is below:
Support for the upcoming 3D games and applications.
-
Auto Suggest feature for text input.
-
Faster web browsing experience.
-

-
Keyboard option has been added in the settings section.
-

-
Under the Internet in settings, you can now toggle to default mobile or desktop webpage layout.
-
Artists bios are updated; embedded links to other artists in text.
-
Other bug fixes.

Yeah. Wasn't the mobile site either, so that says a lot. Windows mobile needs to be blessed with some of that goodness.

Can someone actually do that? They already said they're working on zune for winmo so that would just be a lost cause.

no tabs. I've never heard any mention of tabbed browsing so far. but I can just imagine that they'll be working to bring that feature in
