The Mobile-Review HTC HD2 review is here –”the best amongst phones”
Screen in sunlight test and Coreplayer test (click for larger versions)
There is only one review that matters (and we are not talking about the inanely stupid Gizmodo one). Mobile-Review have published their HTC HD2 review, and its quite a massive read, with detailed battery tests, pictures and video in different lights and comparison with many other devices.
They conclude:
Conclusion
The quality of communication have no complaints, the unit "catches" the network is stable, as most other phones. Volume earpiece is comfortable to talk in almost any environment, there is a stock volume. CALL speaker sounds slightly above average, it’s not as loud as in the HTC Touch Pro2, but if you select only the standard melody, then you hear the call even in the subway. Vibration weaker than average, this should be expected, the motor simply does not suffice to undermine the 150-gram case, you can feel the vibration, if we put the apparatus in the pocket of his trousers, jeans or while walking, she no longer felt.Cost HTC HD2 will be 29 990 rubles at the beginning of sales, which should start in late November or early December (probably still the end of November). Initially the company planned to establish a price tag around 32 000 rubles, but eventually lowered it below 30. As a user receives for the money? The best among the phones and the biggest screen is capacitive, the most productive platform and it is likely that many will appreciate, a quality housing with a solid stack, stylish appearance, as well as the proprietary interface HTC, which, frankly, with each new version becomes more and more convenient.
As the cost of the apparatus is not much more expensive than the flagship Samsung (i8000), or HTC MAX 4G, but in terms of opportunities is HD2 looks interesting. Cons, which I can mention are:
"Kutsyy" supplied (still before us the flagship, and included no charger glasses or car holder)
The large size of the shell (whatever one may say, but HTC HD2 is huge, and this will have to accept)
Lack of joystick or navigation keys or trackball
The lack of quick access to the application manager in the current firmwareNo other significant drawbacks I do not see. Proceeding from this list, you can roughly imagine how interesting HTC HD2 can be to you personally. It remains only to add that HTC has once again managed to create a flagship, which at the time becomes the most attractive set of features and technical characteristics of the device on the market, not only among Windows Mobile-devices. The first HTC Touch was interesting in the market, Touch Diamond drew the attention of the mass user and the Touch HD has become the most technologically advanced machinery at the time. HTC HD2 combines the features of the Touch HD, and Diamond, I will not say that it will become as popular as the Touch Diamond, but the device certainly will go out beyond the interest alone, "tehnogikov, despite its size and high cost. When you see the HD2, understand it themselves.

Cool. I wouldnt worry about iGizmodo. iGizmodos viewers have iLdos up their behinds. I dont even look at that site now, a new Apple product comes out, they automaticaly love it, why would you go to a site that is basically a self reviewing part of apple.com for an impartital review?

it's sad to say but it's true.. that site was among the best I've known and since the iPhone came out it was like 2/3 of the site's content filled with apple stuff. Now that wouldn't be a problem as they have a no:apple tag, but they're reviews of non-apple products are just plain crap and mostly biased (on apple that is). A few weeks ago there was an article about Microsoft's 'diss'-video on the appstore, one of their writers had to make a huge post about how Microsoft's points in that video are not justified.. I was like: 'hey dude, chill. It's just a humor take on the appstore, it's not like they're making an official press conference putting the appstore down.. It's just like apples 'I'm a PC'-diss videos.., like a prank or something like that. You don't have to get upset because of that particular video..'
I still read gizmodo once in every few days, but they're making me go elsewhere pretty soon. And when you try to tell them the reality, then they won't accept it and just ignore you, or put you down in immature writing…

GB T600 has VGA screen and uses hw acceleration of Intel 2700g.
HD2 and NeoTouch have WVGA screeens and NO hardware acceleration on Coreplayer.
Therefore, battery consumption is higher when watching videos, because there’s no optimization for new hardware in WM.
Anyway, comparison is not fair..

Interesting review, but he doesn't mention HD2's camera at all. That to me is the lowest point of this smartphone. All the other features are just amazing. I'm starting to save money from today to get me one with US 3G network, since in my country, Argentina, we have the same 3G network as in the States.

He actually mentions that the camera has the same quality as the Samsung Omnia 2.

And that makes me really wonder, because the difference is so big that you have to be almost blind to not notice.

HTC is sponsoring Gizmodo yet Gizmodo gives the smartphone such a bad review? Ok, they're mostly giving winmo the fault but in the end it's a phone by HTC. That's like cutting in their own flesh.. HTC won't like that I guess, lol.
The cool thing is, they only mention the interface of WinMo and try to push it down with that. Comparing functions and rest besides UI? No, we don't need that. The UI needs to be adapted to the iPhones oh-so-revolutionary interface, so that we in the end can say: COPYCATS!!

Gizmodo are pathetic and it is a shame to see HTC sponsor such a site.

I used to visit the Gozmodo site myself but have not been there in a good many months now. They have so little to say and to many reviews are so lacking in substantial content. Further more, if a good device is being reviewed by numerous other review sites, Gizmodo will find a way to arrive at a completely different analysis/conclusion just for the sake of having done so.
I visit more credible and nonbiased sites to get quality information. Most everybody knows what an impessive device the HTC HD2 is. 4-letter words to Gizmodo.
