Adobe confirms WM7, also confirms no flash in WM7 yet

Microsoft is still officially mum on your “next release of Windows Mobile”, but their partners have never been as tight-lipped as Microsoft has been recently.

Letting the cat out of the bag one day early, Adobe has released a statement confirming that Windows Mobile 7 will not initially support Flash in the browser, but they are working together with Microsoft to make this possible later:

Microsoft and Adobe are working closely together. While the newest version of Windows Phone won’t support Flash at initial availability, both companies are working to include a browser plug-in for the full Flash player in future versions of Windows Phone. More details will be shared at Microsoft MIX next month.

This also confirms leaks we have heard earlier that say much the same, but given that Windows Mobile 7 is not fully cooked yet, it is quite understandable. Hopefully this will not have any effect on Flash 10.1 on Windows Mobile 6.5.

Wooh, what a relief. When I saw the SUPPOSED leaks I thought that MS was gonna take the Complete Apple route and just throw out that option. Can't wait for Tomorrow, hopefully the announcements won't let me down. Does anyone know any site where there gonna be showing it Live.

I"m sorry to tell people, but my hunch for about 2 weeks now is that MS will show stuff tomorro, but the real news will be at or around MIX. I just can't imagine MS having much to offer but some hardware.

Of course, surprises are always welcomed. lol

Unfortunately for me Flash and WinMo are becoming a pain in the rear, probably I"m still stewing about my dud un-upgradeable A$800 Palm Treo Pro. Flash also is beginning to look more like vapourware by the minute, for something that was to be released by last Xmas, its timeline is now unknown with all sorts of caveats appearing by the day. One thing is certain for me to have flash 10.1 on a Windows phone in the near(?) future I will be up for another "G" and to me for a phone that is barely fourteen months old (and will never ever have flash) is just unacceptable. I will now do what I should have done in the first place and join "The Borg"
