Apple attacks HTC once again with fresh set of patents

Apple trolls with patents, ... again Not satisfied with challenging HTC in federal court and the ITC, Apple has once again gone on the attack, accusing the company in Delaware District Court in a second law suite of infringing 4 Apple patents.

The patents cited include:

Patent 7,383,453: Conserving power by reducing voltage supplied to an instruction-processing portion of a processor (granted June 3, 2008)
Patent 7,657,849: Unlocking a device by performing gestures on an unlock image (granted February 2, 2010)
Patent 6,282,646: System for real-time adaptation to changes in display configuration (granted August 28, 2001)
Patent 7,380,116: System for real-time adaptation to changes in display configuration (granted May 27, 2008)

Apple has also attacked one of HTC’s distributors, Exedea, in a clear attempt to turn the screws on the company who’s increasingly popular handsets is challenging Apple in the important US market. Apple has recently lost the second position in the US smartphone market to Android phones, primarily led by HTC’s handsets.

Apple invented under-volting? I was doing that on my Loox 720 6 years ago, and I certainly wasn't the first.

The US needs to start imposing massive punitive damages for bringing nuisance cases like this.

Apple is really start look like a big crying loser more and more every day. They can't even stand competition and when they fall behind they start crying and play dirty.

I don't know that it's fear. But they can't be happy about Android's momentum. So I guess if they legitimately think HTC is infringing they should go for it. Frankly, since HTC can now depend on MS's patents as well as their own, Apple is going to have a tough time and could lose on the reverse lawsuits.
