AT&T now pushing out NoDo updates

It appears the rumours were correct, with reports coming in of AT&T now finally starting to roll out updates.

Two members of the XDA-Dev forum now reports that update has been pushed out to their Samsung Focus.

The original report of an internal email from AT&T noted that the Samsung Focus and LG Quantum will receive updates immediately, but that the HTC Surround will have to wait for an undefined period in mid-May.

Update….I found the AT&T Address Book. It's under Settings, email & accounts, add an account. The address book will be one of the options.

Good catch. I'm in the same boat as you. Have you found the "wispr" functionality? Starting to wonder if MS needed some time to address the problem caused by the Walsh updater….

Updated to NoDo previously with the timing trick, rebranded, getting a "Samsung update for Windows Phone" now. I've got a Samsung Focus.

Got my update, but had to turn off Wfi and data connection. Once those were off it updated with no issue.

If you have never updated your phone before, can you list the exact update names your Zune software informed you of? Did you NOT get the "Samsung Update for Windows Phone" ? Was that only for those of us who jumped the gun and didn't get the AT&T version of NoDo?

I jumped the gun via the timing trick (ATT Samsung Focus). Today I was informed of the "Samsung Update for Windows Phone" and my firmware was updated. I also get the ATT address book option in Settings|People|Add Account as noted above. I have Copy/Paste, etc. Version is 7390, and with the ATT address book thing, I'm pretty sure that I have all of the firmware and software updates that are available.

If you unbranded previously, you MUST re-brand to get todays update, however.

As of 4:08 CST in Austin TX – no Samsung update (NoDoed back in Mrch via Hungary VPN).

If you de-branded to get the NODO update, it's quite possible that you'll need to re-brand to ATT-US in order to get the Samsung update. (That's actually the one that gives the new AT&T features and a handful of other small changes, including Focus-specific firmware updates.)

DEFINITELY have to re-brand. I tested it unbranded, no update. As soon as I rebranded, I got the update notice on the phone, and via Zune.

Anything else besides adding ATT-US to the MobileOperator to rebrand? I rebranded earlier today and I have yet to receive a notification either from my phone or Zune. I used the Hungary VPN method last month.

Ah, I figured it out. There were 4 or 5 spaces after ATT-US – just deleted those and now I'm updating!

Try the Microsoft developer tools for Windows Phone that was released last month. I believe that fixes some of the errors such as timing out.

Didn't get any OTA notice but when I plugged it in, Zune alerted me of the update. It took about 30 minutes to fully install the two updates. Everything went smooth. Some apps definitely feel snappier. I like it.

I knew this would happen. My Focus is still stuck on 7003, and Zune tells me that it's up to date. The Windows Phone Support Tool also fails to recognise that the phone's in the "connect to PC" state.

I didn't wait for the notification on the phone. Just plugged it in with the Zune software and it let me update. (one Focus and one Quantum in Arkansas)

It was startling at first how fast programs opened after the update. I like. I know it's frustrating to wait for all of the mess that has happened but hopefully we'll be out of the woods soon on this first update cycle. Hang in there, guys.
