AT&T Windows Phone 8 retail experience still lacking

I think it would be fair to say early reports from buyers looking to pick up a new AT&T Windows Phone 8 handset is not too positive, with misleading stock level reports, low stock and reps refusing to sell devices commitment-free.

One issue picked up by reader JP is that all the devices in two store he visited had their security tags pasted basically over the camera. His requests to management to move the stickers lower was met by refusal, with staff saying the location was “protocol.”

JP also notes that despite wearing Windows 8 T-shirts the retail staff was still all to happy to direct buyers to iPhones instead of Windows Phones, even when they did not have iPhones in stock.

The one Windows 8 tablet on display was also powered off, leaving JP, who is clearly a passionate Windows user, to turn it on and make it presentable.

The two stores involved were in Kendall, Miami, Florida. Did our readers have a better or worse experience in their own store? Let us know below.
