Yota Contacts and Yota Phone Updated

There has been a lot of work over at www.xda-developers.com on translating the Yota Phone and Yota Contacts that we mentioned last week

The Dialer and now Contacts is now configurable for English, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Polish, and Russian. Please see here on more information on how to modify the installation for you specific language and more information on Yota Contacts and Yota Phone

Here are some updated screen shots for Yota Contacts and Yota Phone. Yota Phone will install Yota Contacts and replace your original dialer. If you would like to keep the original windows mobile dialer that you have simply install Yota Contacts

Installation:

Install either Yota Contacts or Yota Phone (Yota Phone requires reboot after installation)
If you have any trouble opening Yota Contacts install sdkcerts.cab and then soft reset.

Yota Contacts – Contacts Manager, Dialer Page, Favorites and more.

The boys and girls over at www.xda-developers.com have found a nice little program posted on a Russian windows mobile site. www.4pda.ru The program is called Yota Contacts and it’s original contacts included a dialer. The dialer has been removed due to complication with removing the Russian text from the Dialer. This Contacts program is taken from the HTC Max 4G or HTC Yota which is a relatively unknown device to most Windows Mobile users, but if you happen to live in Moscow or Saint Petersburg you can enjoy one of the worlds first 4G phones. Here is Yota Contacts. It works both in VGA and WVGA. It has not been tested on a QVGA device but there are setting inside the XML that might make it work for QVGA. Check back here for future updates.

Installation:

Install sdkcerts.cab – This file is not necessary for some users but it doesn’t hurt to install this file as well.
Install either the Yota Contacts VGA (credits to yozgatg at xda-developers for creating the .cab) or the WVGA version Yota Contacts WVGA
Complete!

It should install a shortcut icon to your Programs. I have also added a couple registry changes to make Yota Contacts the default right soft key in TouchFLO 3D. I have also made Yota Contacts the default contacts in Windows Mobile.

Yota Contacts is completely un-installable so if you are not satisfied with it you can remove it.

There is also other languages that you can install for Yota Contact. See the thread over at www.xda-developers.com for more information.

7mp Panoramic pictures for you HTC Diamond and HTC Fuze/Touch Pro

d0ugie over at www.xda-developers.com found a nice registry tweak to turn your Panoramic photos from the standard (1408 x 480) 0.67mp to (4506×1536) 6.92mp. This registry change seems to work for the HTC Diamond / HTC Touch Pro / HTC Fuze / HTC Touch HD.

You can apply the below registry change yourself. Or install RaphHighResPanorama-RegistryChanger.cab to your device and install. Thanks to d0ugie for creating the .cab

Registry Change:

HKLM/Software/HTC/Camera/P3
Adjust MainCamCaptSize to 1024 and MainCamSupportCaptSize to 1744.

Give your Taskbar some color!

If you have a HTC Fuze or HTC Touch Pro you know how plain the taskbar can be. There is a variety of 3rd party software that you can install to change the default white icons that you see on your taskbar.

massi959 on XDA-Developers has posted a .cab that will give some new life to your boring taskbar.

*Note: This will on work on VGA devices. Do not install this to a QVGA device. See below for Screen shots and install instructions.

Install Instructions:

1.) Copy Colored Top Bar WWE ST.cab or Colored Top Bar WWE Call.cab to your phone main memory or microSD card.

2.) Install either .cab to your main memory of your device.

3.) Soft Reset after installation and enjoy.

Colored Top Bar WWE ST will keep your standard call registry icons.
Colored Top Bar WWE Call will replace your standard call registry icons with this.

HTC Album + Social Networks Engine = FaceBook & YouTube?

The guys over at www.xda-developers.com have been working hard to develop a standalone install file for facebook and YouTube uploader. Currently the only way to get the facebook and YouTube uploader to work is to flash a new ROM to a HTC device. The below cabs attempt to have this available to all Windows Mobile devices.

Da_G, aruppenthal, and pfcsabre, have all been participating on creating this for Windows Mobile users.

duttythroy and monx® have also contributed by posting a fix for facebook.

Below are screenshots of YouTube and facebook uploader in action. Since I have a cooked ROM on my device I am unable to verify if the cabs work. Please comment if it does.

Installation Instructions

Install HTC Album + SocialNetworksEngine.cab
Install Duttys FaceBook Upload Fix.cab
Soft reset after installing

Operating Instructions

To upload photos to facebook first open HTC Album and then select the file you want to upload. The same principle applies to YouTube. Click on the selected video and then Upload to YouTube.

List Of Tips & Tricks For The HTC Fuze & HTC Touch Pro

Looks like the guys over at www.fuzemobility.com have posted some very helpful hints for all you HTC Fuze / HTC Touch Pro users.

There are some good registry tweaks as well as shortcuts for your device. There is a little bit of something in there for everybody from the novice to the professional windows mobile user.

There are three sections from NOOB, Big Fuzer, and Pro. So you will have some idea of how hard or risky each modification is prior to trying it. Thanks to DavidK for his hard work to help out the community. -ppcmobility.com

Widgetize your Today Screen

There are a variety of Today Screen applications or User Interfaces for your Windows Mobile phones. FEWidgets developed by nicodega on www.xda-developers.com, makes it possible to have Samsung Omnia or Windows Vista like widgets for your today screen.

Overview

What is nice about FEWedets is the availability to change or modify your Today Screen easily with widgets of your choosing. You can simply drag and drop widgets onto your today screen by bringing up the sidebar and drag the widgets you want and don’t want.

You can also have up to 4 different today screen. The icon allows you to switch between the different today screens. I found this to be useful for having personal information on one today screen, my business information on a separate today screen, and having a calculator and weather on another screen.

FEWidgets runs surprisingly smooth on my HTC Fuze. I noticed a little bit of lag when testing it on the HTC Touch HD as well with the At&t Tilt, but nothing that prevented from not liking this today application. I also tested this on an older device HTC Wizard and it performed just as well as it did on the Tilt. FEWidgets is capable of running on QVGA, VGA, and WVGA.

Users on www.xda-developers.com have also been creating their own widgets. [FEWidgets] User Made Widgets Thread. This program is still very new in development but has strong and very user friendly features. It’s good to point out that FEWidgets takes up 2mb of Memory usage which is still smaller than TouchFLO 2D or 3D. You shouldn’t having a problem running FEWidgets on older Windows Mobile Devices.

The program itself is very easy to install and set up.

Before you install the program you need to make sure of a few things first.

TO INSTALL:
- Check you have Windows Mobile 5 or 6/6.1 Pro. (i.e Pocket PC with Phone)
- Check you have .NET Framework 3.5 installed.
- Check you have Flash 7 for Pocket PC (FEWidgets won’t work with Flash Lite)
- Install FEWidgets-V1.0.0b8.CAB
- If you have a VGA device or want other backgrounds, place them on images directory on the application directory. Images will NOT be scaled.

*Note: If you have TouchFLO 2D or TouchFLO3D or another program currently set as your User / Today interface disable it before installing FEWidgets.
