Icon Explorer – free icons for Windows Phone Developers and Designers

Icon Explorer is a new project that aims to to organize and make available an extensive set of free symbols/icons that can be used in XAML / HTML by specifying the code of the symbol or as .PNG icons!  All icons follow the Modern UI guidelines, which makes them useful for Windows Phone and Windows Store application development. In addition to that they are also available in 48×48 size for the Windows Phone 7.x app bar and  76×76 for the Windows Phone 8 app bar.

Developers and designers can browse through more than 1000 icons split into 26 categories. Popular categories include:  Business Icons, Clothes and Shoes Icons, Communication Icons, Gadgets Icons, Lifestyle and Leisure, Travel Icons, Sport Icons and more.

EatSmart – a New Nutrition app that helps you stay healthy

Eat Smart is an easy to use app that helps you find all the Nutrition Facts for the foods and beverages you eat. The app contains nutrition information for over 7000+ food items published by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). More than 40 nutrition facts for each food including calories, carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fat and fatty acids (including cholesterol), etc.

Since the nutrition database is built into the app you can use it even in offline mode without internet connection. In addition to the searching, filtering, specific categories like the baby food and recommendation of different foods, EatSmart also offers a Healthy Index: a single number, calculated using a special algorithm, that allows you to very quickly determine the healthiness of a particular food.

The app is available in the Windows Phone Store for £0.99. Free trial is also provided.
