Gears Game
Gears is an excellent puzzle game that allows you to be creative with your own solutions and challenges your brain against 100 unique levels (20 levels available in trial version).
If you like puzzle games where your brain is really challenged, then check this game out. It has quality gameplay, great design, lasting value is very good already, but it will be even more after future free upgrades.
Gameplay description :
The goal of the game is to power the G lamp which is connected to dynamo and run by bronze gears. To start rotation of bronze gears you need to connect them with gold gear (drive gear). On every level you have several silver gears in five different sizes to accomplish this task. As you progress through levels there are different obstacles like red zone, barriers and required rotation direction of bronze gears. There some very easy levels to get you started. But there are also some super challenging ones that will require your whole brain to solve. If all bronze gears are rotating in right direction the G lamp will light green. If not the G lamp will explode. The game is pretty great!
This game has full bag of lasting value. It has 100 levels that are very challenging so you’ll spend plenty of time playing it. And like that is not enough, more levels and gear types are coming in future updates.

GPS Speedometer review
There are many speedometers on the marketplace, but I wanted to review this one because it really stands out with eye-catching design. As name implies it measures your current speed. Speed is shown in digital and analog format (KPH or MPH). It also shows current altitude (meters or feet) and distance traveled (miles or kilometers).
Analog speedometer is animated and it can show different scale for every activity (running, cycling, driving, flying). Also it shows separate (and resettable) top speed for every activity.
There are two separate resettable distance meters, A and B.

There are paid ($0.99) and FREE version of this application. FREE version has all the features just like the paid version, but it shows ads.

Unusual approach to a “next billion dollar business”
I have read some articles about Microsoft loving developers and somehow implying that although v1.0 of WP7 isn’t perfect we developers can make it grow. As a developer I would like to tell you something about my experience with submission of an application to a marketplace and give you a sneak peak to Microsoft approach to a “next billion dollar business” and how Microsoft is “helping” so that together we can make it best platform ever.
I have submitted my game to a Marketplace as required by certification process. After 3 days I got report that submission failed. There were 2 issues. For one there was very detailed description what is wrong and it was very easy to fix. BUT for the other…I could only stare at it. My application failed on “Content and application name are original” requirement. The biggest problem of all was that there was no explanation what is not original. Since name of the game consists of word that doesn’t even exists, and all the content was created by me from scratch…you can imagine my surprise. Also if you think about how many different things can be in the content of a game, how on earth do I know what they think is wrong?! But that’s not all. Contacting support to get more information on the issue was unsuccessful. No one is responding to any support requests! Can you imagine paying 99$ for some subscription and not having any support for it? People, we are talking about Microsoft here, not about some guy in the basement that is selling something!
So if you think about it, how can company as big as Microsoft think about WP7 as next billion dollar business and at the same time fail to have adecvate submission process for Marketplace that they also think is the most important for success of any mobile platform?! On some forums I have learned that I wasn’t the only one with the problems. There are examples of failed submission with completely empty document that should state where is application failing. Also, there are some applications that failed the first time, and some changes that were not related to an issues made application pass the certification process. Some applications showed on the Marketplace but there was no “Buy” button, so they could not sell. The fact is that WP7 Marketplace can’t even pass as a beta product and their processes for submitting application to a Marketplace are maybe in alpha faze. I must say I am very disappointed because I spent great deal of time to develop a game and I can’t do absolutely anything about making it pass the certification process. For me all this is very unexpected. I really thought Microsoft will take this platform seriously. But it looks like that only big companies get needed support.
So Microsoft, you can talk the talk, but can you walk the walk?
Grooveshark Mobile – new app to stream Grooveshark music

I haven’t been so excited about any service on the internet as much as I was excited when I heard about Grooveshark. If you didn’t try it I strongly suggest you to do it right away. Realisation of an idea is awsome! You can listen to any song you want without having to go trought milions of pages to find it, buy it or anything else! You can do everything from one page. You can save your playlists and favorits. It is like radio that plays only what you want for FREE!
I don’t want to go in details because I am sure you already went to see it by yourself. So now you must be asking yourself, what this got to do with Windows Phones? Well directly it does not. BUT, the whole idea just got so much better with nilezon from XDA started developing application which will allow all of us to use it on our Windows Phones! You can find the thread here.
Application is currently in alpha release, it is more like proof of concept and it is beeing developed with Professional (PPC, touchscreen) devices in mind. But since nilezon promissed to release dll for communicating with Grooveshark someone will be able to create UI for Standard (Smartphone) devices (me for example
) which is my favorit.

To see application written for Smartphone platform is always something special for me. Lot of developers choose to neglect this ‘one hand’ friendly platform while they develope there applications, even when only thing that needs to be done to make it usable on Smartphone is to redirect focus to some controls on some key presses.
