Fans of The Office and Michael Scott, rejoice! We’ve had apps in the marketplace in the past that have a button you can tap to play a “That’s What She Said” punchline, but never have we seen an app that brings the best TWSS jokes right to your phone. Now we do – That’s What She Said for Windows Phone delivers the double-entendre on so many levels:
- Over 2200 jokes in the palm of your hand
- A Live Tile that shows the featured joke stream on your start page, updated daily
- A popular joke stream, with the jokes that people are sharing most (you can share to facebook, twitter, sms, email, etc.)
- The ability to search jokes to find the ones that satisfy
- Of course, the ability to play one of several TWSS punchlines after you read a joke or after someone at the office leaves themselves wide open for it
- The ability to submit your own jokes, that will show up in the app!
- Mango support
Users have been loving it, at all hours of the day (so to speak):
I was reading the jokes, and stumbled upon this one that was so long – it was a great experience!
It’s amazing how much good stuff is in there – I really need to take it all in!
I find myself needing more all the time – even at work!
This app will give you your fill of TWSS jokes and more. I know what you’re thinking – “Wow, that’s really hard. You think you can go all day long?” Yep, we do. And when we’re done, you’ll think “Well, you always leave me satisfied and smiling.”
And that’s what she said.
That’s What She Said is free, and can be downloaded from the marketplace.
The Onion 7 v2.0 – Updated with Mangos

America’s finest news app, the Onion 7 has been a must-have since it was released earlier this year. Now in it’s 20th version (officially 2.0 in the marketplace), it continues to get better – notably adding Mango support in the latest release.
With over 2000 user ratings, this fan favorite gives quick access to nearly all of the content on the Onion:
- Mango support, with fast app switching
- Breaking news, videos, radio news and sports hubs give you quick access to news
- The user-configuratble live tile keeps you in the know on the go.
- Any article can be shared to your facebook or twitter, or sent via SMS or email
- Feeling voyeuristic? The Popular hub lets you see what others are sharing.
- And of course, search the entire database of the Onion content right within the app.
All of this hasn’t been lost on those on the street:
“I love Onions – I always end up crying.”
“Without the Onion, my productivity would be through the roof. Who’d want that?”
“Is this stuff real? It’s on the internet, so it must be.”
The Onion 7 is available for free in the marketplace, or you can also buy the ad-free version for $1.99.
a-z deal tracker – now supports amazon.co.uk
Hot on the release of a-z deal tracker for amazon.com and newegg.com in the US, crazy-hot solutions has updated the app to add support for amazon UK for users across the pond looking for a smokin’ deal on just about anything. Just as for the US sites, UK users can now watch products, view the price history, and get notified (via email and live tile) when an item on any of the supported sites drops in price.

Also in this update, a-z deal tracker has gone visual with the ability to view pictures of the items you’re watching as well as improved performance throughout the app.
Are you an a-z deal tracker user? Let us know about a great deal you’ve gotten in the comments below.
You can download a-z deal tracker for free in the marketplace.
Get notified of price drops with ‘a-z deal tracker’
Do you shop on amazon.com or newegg.com? Yep, so do we. Do you love to get a good deal? Yep, us too. A new app in the marketplace, a-z deal tracker, hopes to make it easier for amazon and newegg users to get that great deal -automatically.
The app allows users to search for and "watch" any item sold on these two sites, and will then update the live tile and send an alert when that item drops in price at all, below the initial watch price, or below a user-set value. But that’s not all – as part of tracking the item, the app also shows the price history of the item, so you can see how good a deal you’re really getting – and, if you’re getting the lowest price the app has ever seen. Nice!
Other functionality that rounds out the app nicely lets users:
- see popular items that other people are watching
- gives quick access to the gold box deal feed from amazon
- see reviews and similar items for anything being watched
- share deals with friends through facebook, twitter, email, or sms
All in all, the app is well put together and seems to do exactly what it advertises – make it easier to get a great deal on two of the top sites on the internet.
Not only is the app free, but at least for now it is also ad-free – and available for download in the marketplace.
The Onion 7 – laugh.a.little

It’s been written about before, but the Onion 7 has been continuously updated and we thought it’d be a good idea to give its new features a run through their paces. For those that don’t know, the Onion is a news parity site that bills itself as “America’s finest news source.” The Onion 7, an unofficial app, does a great job in bringing that motto to your WP7. Now on version 1.18, the app continues to improve with regular weekly updates, largely driven by user-requests. Additions since our last review include:
- Video’s now play in the app, and in landscape mode – with the ability to turn off ads during playback.
- The live tile has been updated to be configurable – and will now take you to the hub that contains the article shown on the tile, automatically.
- The hubs in the app are now completely configurable, so you can get the news you want, and skip the rest.
- A “Popular” hub has been added, allowing you to quickly see the articles that the community loves the most.
- Articles are downloaded in the background more efficiently, meaning less impact on you as you read articles, and the ability to read the Onion even when you’re in a tunnel. Or something.
And lastly, for those who don’t like advertisements, an ad-free version has been released to the marketplace that brings all of the humor with none of the ads. Nice touch.

Overall the app still feels great. The layout screams WP7, and the constant updates make it a pleasure to use. All of this makes the Onion 7 a clear winner in the marketplace, and we can’t wait to see what comes next. Twitter anyone?
The Onion 7 is available for free in the marketplace, or you can also buy the ad-free version for $1.99.
