I am a novice developer who started at zero a little over a month ago. The wealth of available MS tools, tutorials, books, and websites have helped me learn a tremendous amount in a short time. To anyone out there who is thinking of taking the plunge, go for it! I would never have guessed a month ago that my apps would be downloaded over 1600 times by now!
Download Mood Projector from the Marketplace and start sploding today.

Vent your rage with the Rage-O-Meter

Rage-O-Meter is now available in the Marketplace!
Using a technique perfected by medical residents in Philadelphia, the Rage-O-Meter lets you blow off steam quickly and efficiently. Just drag the pulsating orb of rage into position, hold down the broadcast button, and release your rage into the world.
The Rage-O-Meter is integrated with Twitter and Facebook to help disperse your rage quickly over a large network. The Rage-O-Meter goes to 11.
The Rage-O-Meter is free and available from the Marketplace here.
Can you marry your first cousin in Illinois? How about Nevada?

Cousinosity v0.3 is now in the Marketplace! While v0.1 was merely a humble implementation of subtraction, v0.3 includes a slew of new features. Spend minutes investigating the bizarre laws governing first cousin marriage in the US! Read about “double cousins” in the Wikipedia. Start with “fourth cousin six times removed” and figure out where the nearest common ancestor is!
Cousinosity is the largest collection of facts about cousins you weren’t sure you wanted to know!
On a more serious note, it is amazing how flexible and forgiving Microsoft’s tools are. If you have an idea, you can build it. The beautiful metro design language is consistently built in, making visual design friendly and relatively painless. Download the SDK, watch some videos at Channel 9, and start writing apps!
Cousinosity is free and can be found on in Marketplace here.
Cousinosity explains relationships
Cousinosity is now available in the Windows Phone Marketplace! At the moment it is very simple: input the generations to the nearest common ancestor and see what kind of cousins you are (“fourth cousins twice removed”, etc.). There are a few amusing Easter eggs with the edge cases. Cousinosity is useful for quickly settling the perennial argument about what “second cousin three times removed” means.
This is my first foray into development, and I was astounded at the high quality of the resources and tools MS provides, even for a total beginner. I have several ideas for more ambitious (and useful) projects in the coming months, but I wanted to start contributing to the community as soon as I could. Any ideas, suggestions, or criticisms you have are welcome!
Cousinosity is free and can be downloaded from Marketplace here.
