Aviary Releasing SDK For Windows Phone Platform
Aviary, the company which provides photo-editing tools for the web and mobile is planning to expand its support to Windows Phone platform. Aviary will make it possible for app developers to incorporate its photo-editing technology into Windows Phone apps using the SDK which will be released soon.
According to Todd Bishop,
Aviary was convinced to make the investment in the Windows Phone SDK based on factors including Nokia’s focus on photography in the new Lumia line of Windows Phones, with Carl Zeiss lenses. “At a hardware level they’ve just done everything right,” said Paul Murphy, a vice president at Aviary.

Xbox LIVE Deal Of The Week : COLLAPSE
COLLAPSE is a little puzzle game where you destroy clusters of three or more blocks to win. This game comes with a great greast play. Under Xbox LIVE Deal of the Week, Collapse will be on sale for $1.99 instead of $2.99.
From our review of this game,
COLLAPSE is very simple, and can practically be played by tapping madly on the screen until you clear everything. However, it also has some more challenging gameplay modes like the Strategy modes, and it presents new Expert goals for each level, giving you unique targets to shoot for when playing. The most important thing about the game is that it’s actually fun to play. Once you get about thirty minutes into the game, you are really drawn into it thanks to the always changing gameplay style. There are boss levels, puzzle levels, double sided levels, and more. There are even upgrades you can buy using points earned from playing the game. It’s an extremely fun and easy to play puzzle game.
You can read our full review here. And you can find the game here from the marketplace.

Update: Post title corrected by adding Greece instead of Germany.

White Nokia Lumia 900 Images Leaked
Yesterday Nokia announced the Lumia 800 white availability. Nokia Facebook pages posted images of the device, but to our surprise they are not Lumia 800, instead its Lumia 900 in White. As you can see in the image above, Lumia 900 sports a front cam and less space near capacitive buttons. We are expecting Nokia to announce the Lumia 900 equivalent device for rest of the world other than USA.

Developers: How To Get Your App Featured In Windows Phone Marketplace?

How To Get Your App Featured In Windows Phone Marketplace? I know many Windows Phone developers ask the same question again and again. Before answering the above, what will happen when you get featured on Windows Phone Marketplace.
- Panorama Placement: Panorama placement is the premiere placement for promotion on the Windows Phone Marketplace. The value of this placement is immense as we have seen a 2000% increase in downloads for an app (on average) that is featured in panorma mode.
- Featured Icon Placement: Being promoted as a featured icon is the second best way to be featured on the Marketplace. Apps that get Featured Icon Placement on average see an 800% increase in app/game downloads during their time being featured.
- Featured List: The third mode of getting featured in the Marketplace is the Featured List. It does return an average of a 150% increase in app/game downloads.
The answer to the question of “How To Get Your App Featured In Windows Phone Marketplace?” depends on whether your app has all the three important attributes listed below,
- Delight
- Utility
- Functionality
You can read each of them in detail through this blog post from MSDN.
This post was the fifth and final post in a series of five posts on strategies for being successful on the Windows Phone Marketplace. The first post (publishing in the right geographies) is here. The second post (trial mode and the art of the upsell) is here. The third post (finding the pricing sweet spot) is here. The fourth post (the differentiation game) is here.
Great job by Paul Laberge.
