Xbox LIVE Deal Of The Week In Windows Phone Marketplace: Monopoly
Overall Score: 5/5
First of all, you must actually like the board game Monopoly in order to like this phone game! It’s basically the exact board game, but virtual. Everything works perfectly, so you can simply experience Monopoly as it should be played.
Gameplay: 5/5 (Weighted to be 2x more important)
The controls are simple and effective. If you’re ever unsure of what a button will do, just hold over it with your finger and the button will reveal its title. The controls allow you to enjoy Monopoly. Gameplay is essentially the classic board game (don’t buy the game if you don’t like Monopoly in real life!). Fans of Monopoly will enjoy the multiple AI (computer opponents) difficulties and the ability to play with their friends (up to 4 people can play).
HTC Titan & Titan II Now Out Of Stock From AT&T Website
We all heard about Nokia Lumia 900 going out of stock often at various retailers, but now its time for HTC Windows Phone devices. Both HTC Titan and HTC Titan II are now out-of-stock on AT&T’s website. We don’t know the exact reason why the devices went out of stock, either it may be because the devices sold out completely or HTC was lazy to fill the supply chain. Either way, you should wait for some more days if you want to own a HTC Titan or Titan II from AT&T.

Nokia Pulls Skype For Windows Phone App From Lumia 610 Device
This is a really bad news for Nokia Lumia 610 device owners. After Skype announced that it won’t support Skype for Windows Phone on devices with 256MB RAM, Nokia came to rescue the users and announced that Skype for Windows Phone will work on Lumia 610. But now, Nokia has felt the same way Skype did and has decided to pull the Skype app from the marketplace.
Below is the translated statement from Nokia China,
“Nokia values the user experience provided by its products and services. Therefore, although the Skype Windows Phone version is workable on Nokia Lumia 610, after in-depth testing, we found that the user experience is not up to par with Nokia and Skype’s expectation and decided not recommending users using Skype on Nokia Lumia 610. In the future, users of Nokia Lumia 610 would no longer be able to download Skype Windows Phone version from Window Phone Marketplace. However, Skype Windows Phone version would still be available for other users.”
What do you think of this decision from Nokia ?

Nokia Releases Transport 2.0 App For Lumia Windows Phone Devices
Nokia today released the second version of its exclusive app Transport for Lumia Windows Phone devices. The new version features improved search, performance, etc,.
Change log:
- Find nearby stations, departure times and even types of transit lines available around your location.
- Improved search:
- Remember your last search query
- Change your search without leaving the journey view
- Improved performance
- Faster display of upcoming journeys
- Faster journey request
This app works differently according to the region. It provides us route based on timetable and estimation.
From Nokia,
This app supports timetable-based information in certain cities & regions and estimated routing in others.
Estimated routing uses the map data to calculate a heuristic route, based on the likely frequency of lines. That means we have no exact departure and arrival times, but only know how long a journey using certain lines might take.
Download the app here from the betalabs site.

Visual Studio 11 Express For Windows Phone Coming Along With WP8 Launch
Microsoft’s Visual Studio team yesterday announced the product lineup for their upcoming major release Visual Studio 11. Visual Studio 11 Beta is already available for download, but Windows Phone developers were waiting for Windows Phone tool support in Visual Studio 11 Beta. Now Microsoft has announced that to make sure customers have the latest tools with the latest platform offering they’ll be releasing Visual Studio Express for Windows Phone with the next release of Windows Phone.
So, developers will be able to download Visual Studio 11 Express for Windows Phone along with Windows Phone 8 platform release. We guess that will happen next month during Windows Phone developer event organized by Microsoft. For now, developers should be able to free download the Visual Studi0 2010 Express and the Windows Phone 7.5 developer tools for Windows Phone development.

On The Free Xbox Avatar Props For Signing Up The Windows Phone Newsletter
Few days ago we reported about the free Windows Phone themed Xbox Avatar props for users who sign for Windows Phone newsletter. Many people got the avatar redeem code as expected, but some didn’t get it. It was because some great Windows Phone fans out there abused the system to get all the avatar props for themselves. They even listed it on eBay!
Don’t worry, Microsoft is with us. Here is their response,
We are flattered that our avatar prop is so popular, but frustrated that someone abused the system to reserve a bunch of codes for themselves and shut out legitimate users in the process. We’ve now ended the promotion for the skateboard. If you signed up for the newsletter (thanks, BTW!), got the invite for the gear and weren’t able to redeem your code, we will be making it right: we will send you a code in the next few days for a different prop (a Windows Phone foam finger).
