Great Windows Phone Development events in Greece
There will be great events related to Windows Phone Development events at TEI of Larissa in Greece.
The Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications, NOKIA Hellas and Microsoft Hellas are arranging a two day hackathon for students in May 24-25, 2012. At this two days event, students will have an opportunity to design, develop and demo complete applications. There will also be a beginner opportunity that will help first-time Windows Phone developers become familiar with the basics of the Windows Phone ecosystem. The Department launched the "Windows Phone Developer Challeng"e and students can participate by submitting 3 apps to the Windows Phone Marketplace and may win a free Windows Phone 7 device.
The Department also is hosting the "Windows 8 hands-on Workshop" on June 7–8, where students will have a chance to meet & interact with Windows 8 Metro app experts as they would be mentoring both on the technical and business aspects.

TEI of Larissa announces Greek Windows Phone Developer Challenge

The Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications of TEI of Larissa in Greece, announces the Windows Phone Developer Challenge, a challenge that encourages students to combine the world of mobility with their very own creative mind. Students who will submit 3 apps that pass the requirements and are published on the Windows Phone Marketplace will be rewarded with a free Windows Phone 7 smartphone.
The local Microsoft student community shall have interactive and fun filled events for the Windows Phone developer Challenge, where students, mobile developers, Windows Phone fans, technology bloggers and anyone interested in WPDC will be invited. The Windows Phone Developer Challenge starts at 12:01 AM on April 1st 2012.
Winners of the Greek Windows Phone App Contest announced

Earlier this year, all students of the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunications of Larissa Institute of Technology (TEI) in Greece, were invited to participate in Windows Phone App Contest to create an application for Windows Phone 7 platform. Sponsored by Microsoft Hellas and Nokia the competition proposed to intensify and accelerate the Windows Phone 7 programming and encourage students to express themselves and be as creative as possible with their ideas.
All the mobile app projects were reviewed by faculty members and leading professionals and the eight winners of the contest who were selected from among thirty eligible participants will now receive their prizes. Top two winners will be awarded with a new LUMIA 800, and the six runner ups with an HTC or LG windows phone 7 smartphone. Next week, the local .NET student community will be hosting a campus event where developers will present their applications and receive their new smartphones.
As a result of the increasing popularity of Windows Phone 7 platform, the postgraduate program MSc in Network Computing offered by the department, recently included Windows Phone programming on the main course structure.
