In the Marketplace, there’s about 9 different Hangman titles for Windows Phone 7 already. A few of them are free but most of them are paid. Which will give you the best experience? Find out in the Video Review and read the written review below!

Trine’s Hangman (1st Place)

Although the competition gave this game a run for its money, Trine’s Hangman pushed ahead as the winner thanks to its amazing sounds (sound effects tell you when you get something right or wrong, and beautiful classical music plays in the background), its elegant visual animations, and its great online scoreboards feature. All of the top 3 games don’t feature a 2 player mode, so each of our winners misses there, but Trine’s Hangman will be getting 2 player mode with a free update sometime soon. Trine’s Hangman also doesn’t have categories of words like others, but the race for 1st place was close, and Trine’s Hangman’s attention to detail pushed it ahead of the others. Find it in the Marketplace for $1.99 (a holiday price special)

Hangman by Kitron Software (2nd Place)

The battle for 2nd and 3rd place was even closer. This game doesn’t feature any sounds, which hurts the gameplay, and the visuals were unimpressive. But the gameplay was pretty solid other than those negatives. You get six different categories of words to play with, and the game will keep track of your wins and losses. Find it in the Marketplace for $0.99

Hangman by Dig IT Out (3rd Place)

Like the 2nd place winner, this app also doesn’t have any sounds. The visuals area also busy and make playing hangman less satisfying. The gameplay, however, has a lot of adjustable components, from the difficulty settings, to numerous categories, and even variable word lengths. But the game lacks a statistics monitor. Find it in the Marketplace for $0.99

What about 2 player hangman?

There weren’t any great hangman games that had 2 player in it! The best one I found was 2-N-1 Hangman Free, which has decent visuals and not to great sounds, but does have 2 player mode where you can create a word and have your friend guess it! My main issue with this game is that it doesn’t resume once you turn your phone off or go to something else. All the top three games resume within 4 seconds and loose none of your data, but turn off your screen in 2-N-1 Hangman, and your game is gone! Find it in the Marketplace for Free.
