“Big surprise coming from Sony Ericsson in next few months”

Now that Sony Ericsson is officially back in the Windows phone 7 fold we are happy to report again on rumours of their upcoming devices.

In this video taken CEO Bert Nordberg told a reporter that “a big surprise” from the company is coming “in the next few months”. Of course most reporting are expecting the mythical Android PSP phone, but now that we know Sony Ericsson still has Windows Phone 7 on their roadmap, would it not be amusing if the company delivers an Xbox Live phone first?

at that point he might have been talking out of have ass, but I'd really want to see what the big news is. lol, it would really be great if they released an xbox phone first. ha, sony would be pissed

Sony-Ericsson is a brand I really love. Some of their recent smartphones have not been a success (buggy and slow UI notably).
So I really would be happy to see SE release a great higher end WP7 device, with great specs.
Most of the WP7 devices we have seen so far have really disappointing specifications. Especially coming from HTC.
Sony-Ericsson has a great opportunity here. I wish they can release a nice WP7 device with a great camera (SE can easily do that), great design (SE can easily do that also), 16/32GB storage, and a decent battery life.

Maybe I'm wrong in this but Sony-Ericsson =/= Sony Corp. It's a joint partnership ya, more like a sub group that does it's own thing I'd say. Ericsson makes the hardware and sony does the design iirc. So them doing a WP7 phone isn't a surprise or a shock imo. And a PSP phone? If you want to play PSP games just get a PSP ffs.

You know, Sony could always launch a PS3 Connect app/hub for all PS3/PSP mobile game on Windows Phone 7 to compete with Xbox Live on WP7. Sony Ericsson could of course have it built-in on all SE WP7 devices, and sell it on the Marketplace as well.

I think Microsoft will allow them to publish this app to the Market, just to show how awesome and flexible their market is, and they know it will get them to really nail down their Xbox Live stuff if they have to compete.

Sony Ericsson SUCKS. All their smartphones except for X10 suck. Aino, Satio, Vivaz, etc…all HORROR devices. They might also be offering the worst customer service after HTC. Their X10 is a high-end smartphone and its still only running Android 1.6….they want to update that to 2.1 at some point in the next few months…thats ridiculous considering 2.2 has already been out for months. Only HTC is worse at offering proper software updates and drivers.

I really would NEVER EVER buy a SE smartphone.
