Bing takes a huge leap into integrating Zune, other services

Bing now lets you buy music directly from search results.

In what may be the most interesting thing Microsoft has done recently, the company has enhanced their Bing search engine by integrating music, games and TV shows.

Searching for music will allow a user to stream the music once from the Zune service directly, followed by 30 second clips on subsequent clicks, and also easily buy mp3s from Zune, Amazon or iTunes.

Slightly less significantly is the Bing Game service, which allows users to search game reviews, play games in Bing itself, and even find cheats easily.

Bing TV offers more than 1,500 shows and 20,000 full TV episodes, and integrates Hulu, Viacom, CBS content.

Lastly Bing movies makes it easy to read reviews and buy tickets of the latest movies.

The Bing service is closely tied to the Windows Phone 7 OS, with the phone having a button dedicated just to searching the site, and there is a good change the innovation will trickle down to the phone platform also.

It was such a struggle for me last year going Google-free, but it's certainly panning out well. The biggest obstacle for using bing for me was just habit. Glad the Bing Team hasn't stood still.
