Bluetooth keyboard on the HTC HD2

With Engadget running stories on Bluetooth HID support being hacked onto the iPhone, it is useful to remind ourselves that of course Windows Mobile supported this for many years already.

The video above shows the Logitech Dinovo Edge Keyboard paired with the HTC HD2.

For full-touch devices like the HTC HD2 this is obviously a real advantage, and ironically the Apple bluetooth mini-keyboard works particularly well with the device, with of course no App for that needed.

What the heck? I have a diNovo Edge and I'm fairly sure it works on RF through a USB dongle and not Bluetooth.

Edit: Well the Logitech website it says it uses Bluetooth 2.0 but it also says it comes with a USB mini receiver. I know you can't just pair it via Bluetooth, so how do you pair it with a HD2?

Just tried this out with my phone and keyboard, works real nicely. Although I can't picture much use for it, long gone are the days you'd see people using external keyboard with PDAs.

I wonder what iPhone fanboys would say if you told them you have had this ability on Windows Mobile for years and don't even need to jailbreak your phone. I'm sure they have some defense or excuse ready to go though, probably something along the lines of "yeah, but your phone sucks at virtually all else so we're still better off".

The Dinovo is a usual bluetooth keyboard and the USB receiver is a usual bluetooth dongle as you can read in my post on XDA Devs i dont even use the original bluetooth dongle because its way to big i prefer this one: http://www.digitus.info/en/products/network/?c=1238&p=13274

So it was worth a try to pair it with my HD2 and it works without any additional driver

Tried using my microsoft bluetooth keyboard 6000 and number pad. Works great, but would like to program the keys. Does anyone know how to do this, especially the F-Keys?
