Another LG Fantasy Picture Leaks, This Time More Clearly

It was only last Friday that an xda-developers member, untitledmangxg, showed us some pictures of the LG Fantasy, a Windows Phone said to come in the first quarter of 2012. However, they were quite blurry, but thankfully another member, razorsbk, has posted a new, much nicer picture.
We’ve photoshopped the render that Pocketnow leaked back in July into the new image, and there are some notable differences here:
- Size: From the proportions of earpiece, logo and capacitive buttons, the actual device on the left definitely seems smaller. With untitledmangxg claiming it to have a 4″ screen, the render seems to us more like 4.3″.
- Front-facing camera: Yes folks, no camera on the render, but the actual device seems to have one, to the top-left of the logo.
- Start button: The Windows flag on the actual device has a rectangular shape surrounding it, suggesting it to be a hardware button. Whatever it is, it’s definitely different from the render.
- Edges: The top and bottom edges of the render are slightly curved outward, whereas the actual device shows them to be completely straight.
Maybe these are two different devices, maybe they’re the same device but LG has changed it, we don’t know. But considering the release timeframe, we should know soon, at least within the next three months.
Another Windows Phone Notification Concept

XDA Forums member the0ne has done this notification system concept for Windows Phones.
This is how it works,
To go to the Notification center, just drag down from any app. That is works even in the lock screen. The Notification center, have pinned apps like weather, Zune or the radio. In the notification tab appear missed phone and skype call, mails and messages, new Facebook and Twitter updates. In the reminders tab appear all from your calendar as meetings, tasks, alarms and others. New toast notifications appear briefly at the top of your screen. Quick toast notifications are used to promote awareness of a new event to the user and request action from the user in an unobtrusive and friendly manner. Users may interact with the toast notifications by tapping on it. The toast will then launch the Notification center, or directly the notifying application.
You can give him feedback over this concept here. Even though Microsoft’s intention is to not create a notification center( they call it as Junk drawer), its interesting to see new concepts from designers.

An Interview with WP7 Indie Game Developer Elbert Perez
1)Have you developed Apps for any other platforms before? If Yes What are they?
I have developed apps for Windows and Xbox, but not for Android or iPhone.
2)Why did you choose WP7 as a platform of your choice?
I have been working on XNA which WP7 uses, for over 2 years now, it was only natural for me to develop for WP7 due to familiarity with the API’s and C#.
3)Which one do you think as the single most feature you liked in WP7?
I love the fact that I was able to port any of my games within 4-8 hours, which is a very rewarding experience. Also porting to PC and Xbox is just as easy.
4)Are you satisfied with WP7 Platform development tools?
I am currently happy with the 4.0 Game Studio beta, the earlier releases were a bit more unstable in terms of breaking changes. But now that beta has stabilized I do not have to worry about massive rewrites to my games.
5)What are the Apps you are developing now in WP7?
I have two applications in development. I have Scribble Defense which is a tower defense game, and is in late beta. As well as Zombie Epidemic Simulator which is halfway through alpha right now.
6)Future Plans?
Right now I wan to be able to launch my apps whenever the WP7 marketplace launches. The performance of my games on the marketplace will determine how I will go forward in the next year.
7)Any other thing you want to share with the community?
I believe that the WP7 market is ripe for the taking. The iPhone marketplace is already too crowded and the Android marketplace is getting there as well (not to mention that you have to target so many different devices with different profiles). The tools are available, and it is very easy to get something up and running, especially if you are familiar with C# or java.
Thanks Elbert for sharing your thoughts with us.All the best for you Games at WP7 Marketplace.
An interview with WP7 Exclusive Startup-Social Indulgence
1)Have you developed Apps for any other platforms before? If Yes What are they?
We are a new startup and have chosen WP7 exclusively as our platform of choice for the foreseeable future.
2)Why did you choose WP7 as a platform of your choice?
Most mobile platforms are relatively similar to each other, however WP7 has not been afraid to break the mold and is quite innovative. I think WP7 is positioned well to find a balance between OEMs, developers and consumers without becoming fragmented.
3)Which one do you think as the single most feature you liked in WP7?
I like the ability to bring content from multiple services into one place, as well as the XBox Live integration. However the most important features I’ll be looking for in the future will come from a wide variety of apps and games.
4)Are you satisfied with WP7 Platform development tools?
Yes. The tools are not finished yet and are currently at the beta stage, however they are of good quality.
5)What are the Apps and Games you are developing now in WP7?
We have developed 2 apps and 1 game so far.
- The game is ‘Glow Air Hockey’, which is a fun single or two player game that challenges your reflexes and provides hours of fun. It has realistic behaviour that is powered by a physics engine. You can play against another player on the same touch screen, or play against the phone with 3 levels of AI. A lot of work was done to make the AI very realistic, and will challenge you at each level.
- We have also created an app called ‘My Shopping List’, which allows you to easily keep track of items to pick up from the store. It remembers previous lists and allows you to easily copy recurring items that you have picked up before. You can also place items in the basket as you’ve picked each item up, so that only remaining items are listed.
- We have created an app called ‘Eye Tester’, which displays an eye chart that allows you to compare your eyes over time. You can also view a chart to see how your eyes compare to other users that have downloaded the app as well.
6)Future Plans?
We will be creating several more apps and games in the near future, so stay tuned for updates. You can follow us on twitter at http://twitter.com/SocialIndulge
Thanks Chris for your valuable thoughts.Good luck for your products at WP7 Marketplace.
S2U2 Updated to V2.42 With Most Fixes

S2U2 seems to be the most popular lockscreen application for Windows Phone, and now with this update you can enjoy it a bit more. The popular iPhone like lock screen that many have found useful and adopted has just today been updated by the creator A_C. The developer released this as a fix update that changes a lot of the problems people had been having with the previously released V2.41.
The fixes include:
- directly uses S2P buttons graphic files.
- added support to show current/today weather from Elecont Weather (S2U2 Settings > Information).
(make sure you have updated Elecont Weather to the latest version, v1.5.9 or later)
- fixed the "Shuffle Password keypad" option could not be turned on/off in v2.41.
- fixed the graphics issue when an analog clock was aligned to right in v2.41.
- fixed "Slide text mirror" did not work on the InCall lock screen.
- fixed the occasional problem that Task list could not be shown.
- a few minor bugs fixed.
That is all great for people that have become accustomed to this on their devices. The developer had also released the updated version of his popular S2P application to Marketplace if you are interested. This is great because his applications had been so popular that companies in China used to use it as their phones main lock screen, and not even pay for it or credit him for his work. If I were him I would be mad, but at least he has some marketplace apps now.
Overclock Your Second Gen HTC Device (Not HD2)

The HD2 with its very fast 1Ghz processor has made a few people envious, and so your Touch Pro2, Diamond 2 can now get to a speed that is pretty close. A new application created by XDA member NetRipper(who also made the HD2 variant) just release this mod application that can speed up your 528Mhz device to a new, improved, and do not forget power killing 710MHz. Now that speed is still down on the low, but considering the software the devices have compared to the HD2’s software… Your good.
MaxSense Gets An Updated & I Like it

The newest of all Sense UI modification has recently received a change of face, and I like the improvements. The update to what is called "the most drastically changing modifications since HTC started Windows Phone" was pretty recent, and using it now on my device, is a lot better.
The update includes a new way to jump to your tabs. In the situation where you want to check your text message or email, you can simple hold your text message icon and slide your finger right or left and you can now jump to that tab. Using this on my device, I found it as a lot easier to get around, an gush it is a much cooler way.
The other changes are:
v1.04/1.05 - Analog clock widget with dual time/clock feature (all new clocks) - New Text scrolling panel widget ( text will scroll on the panel upon updates on registry ). This is actually planned for stock updates but I still don't have the time to update yet. - 1 new weather layout - Home buttons and keys now go straight to the main screen - Program link settings for those featured applications - Retractable taskbar settings - Larger snap option in widget edit mode - All alert icons are more responsive to touch - New widget; backlight display off toggle - Widget can now be deleted by moving straight to the bottom trash can in widget edit mode - Display panel alert new auto close setting ( will close after pressing left top icon ) - Save & Restore Settings - Extended Favorite Contacts Widget - All new stock icons and backgrounds
Hopefully you like it, go to the Thread for more information.
Pong: Bring the battle to the iPhone

Many of you might see Ping Pong as a very phone game, but I see it a totally different way. I play ping pong quite often (I have it in my game room), and when I play, its usually intense and it seem now I can have that same intensity on my mobile phone.
This game created by one XDA member tries to put your Windows Phone 7 device vs. the iPhone something. The battle is held in a futuristic city, and the winner takes all, but the ball decides the faith of the world. The battle might go on for ever, but just remember this… Windows Phone 7 will win eventually.
Give Your Device an iPhone Lockscreen

I am sure I should not post this, but since I like taking risks, here you go. This lock screen is a bit like S2U2, but with less function. The lock screen is a simple slide to unlock screen with notifications, and has the Windows Phone price and unlock.
Main features:
[+] The skin got a appointment area which shows the next appointment
[+] You are able to see how much notifications you got
[+] It looks a bit like the iPhone-Unlock-Skin (excluding the slider and the top information’s)
[+] The slider is located at the left side

All changes on your ROM are without responsibility!!
The skin is based on the lockscreen-file from the EnergyROM.
So thanks to NRGZ28 for his great ROM!
Sorry for my bad English, but I’m only a German student.
I hope you like my work!

Windows 7 Boot Screen
There is a new line of boot screens are designed after Windows 7, and here is one of the new splash screens. The theme is made where all good things come from –XDA- and it is simple and more pleasant way to experience your device to the max.
There is not much to say about the start screen, but here is what the developer had to say about it:
instructions:
1 : Copy the splash screens to your storage card
2 : Replace the “welcomehead.png” or “welcomehead.192.png” with my PNGs
3 : Perfume a soft reset
4 : Feel Fresh…
Nuff said. Download it
HTC HD2 Android Port Going Faster Than The Speed Of Love (???)

It’s no question that many people have been asking for an Android port for their HD2, well it seems the Htc_Linux team is giving you it all at a fast speed. Hydros Sync Center… “The Future Of Sync Centers”
Most people in the world of Windows Phones are tied to Microsoft Active Sync to get their devices information, well Hydros Sync Center is here to contest that. This software was derived from one person that got tired of using the same old active sync and the extremely boring and hard to use Windows Media Center to get his files on his device. Now with this application, it can do that, and more:
