Confirmed–Mango supports visual voice mail

vv1 In May WindowsPhone8 leaked that Windows Phone 7 Mango will support visual voice mail. Now with the beta in the hands of developers the option for activating visual voice mail has been found in the dialler settings of the software update.

The feature does not appear on all carriers, with AT&T only supporting it on on iPhones and Blackberries, but some people have been able to get it work on T-Mobile USA.

With the Mango release Windows Phone 7 is rapidly closing in a feature parity with other major operating systems, and with Tango and Apollo on the way will hopefully leapfrog them in 2012.

theres st interesting in ie9: in previous versions i often had the situation that i opened ie and wanted to go one site back but the back button of course kicked me out of the browser. i had to use history which was kinda a pain. opening a link always created a new tab. when closing this new tab the back button didnt take me back to where i came from, it worked as back in the tab i now was in. it was cruel sometimes and one of my major concerns with wp.
ie9 mobile leaves this path of back/forward in the browser in a way. the back button still takes you one step back in the os, but not most of time, ALWAYS. the forward option isnt there any more and the history vanished too. instead there is a recent option which just shows you the pages you visisted, its faster than using history. furthermore you now can choose wether you want to open links in a new tab or in the current one in settings.
in an other note the find on page function disappeared…maybe its accessable vie the search button now…

I love the Recent list in the browser! But yeah I miss the Find on Page feature, and it’s nowhere to be found as of now. It’s still a beta though!

I also don’t like that the Tabs button is hidden in the menu now and takes two taps instead of one. Hopefully they’ll change that.

It did not work for me yesterday. But now it works flawlessly. I guess you need to try turn this feature on/off a few times.

I’m on tmo as well it works for me. Just tap the phone tile and there’s a pivot for voicemail.

I’m on TMO DE (i.e. the German “mother company”) and Visual Voicemail with my contract does only work when I use an iPhone. Can anyone please tell me if Visual Voicemail in Mango is perhaps a US exclusive feature? I wouldn’t understand why, but I’m sure there could be such a constellation…
