Control iTunes Music Library From Windows Phone 7

If your previous smartphone was from Apple or If you have bought no.of music stuff from iTunes for your iPod, now you can access all your content from Windows Phone 7. Komodex systems has released an app called Remote which provides solution to this problem. Here is the application description.

“With Remote, you can control iTunes from your phone. You can browse through your iTunes music library and choose playlists, songs, and albums as if you were right in front of your computer. Play, pause, control the volume and more.

With Remote, you can see all the artists, albums, songs, and playlists in your iTunes library. Use your device’s keyboard to search for albums, artists, and songs by name. Once you find the media you’re looking for, just tap on it to immediately start playback.

From the Now Playing screen you can use the play/pause and next/previous track buttons to control playback. This screen also lets you control the volume, play position, and shuffle/repeat settings. Tapping the artist’s name above the album art lets you browse all the songs and albums for that artist.

To pair Remote with a new library for the first time, you must run the Pairing Utility on your computer. This utility can be downloaded from our website at: http://wp7remoteapp.com. This utility is only required for the initial pairing of Remote with a new library.Supports the ability to control multiple iTunes libraries. Requires iTunes 10.1 or later and a Wi-fi network.”

Why are you guys simply against anything anyone may release?
What's wrong with having such a nice application available to begin with?
I know many folks using i-tunes on their PCs because they've got ipods for years that would love to get this app to control their computers at home (FTR: myself I've never own one and I've never installed itunes).

Now here is hope of something similar to work with WMP12 and/or other windows popular players such as video lan.

Why bash us when you've never used iTunes or installed it on your PC?

It's such a horrible program, so while I can see that this software may be useful to control it, most people using iTunes will have iPhones and iPod and really, are only using iTunes because they have to.

Why?
- Because I despise any kind of fanboysm, and this website sometimes gets close to Apple's which frightens me. If anything, the Windows community has always been about openness of anything but optionally the source code. I'm all for people using the media library software of their likes and for them to have nice apps like this one to use it.

As for how much of a horrible software it is. I don't know, but I don't care. The fact is it's one of the most popular softs out there, and many people got used to it and couldn't live without it no matter what. This WP7 for sure makes it better to use, so all the best for iTunes users !
Why should non-users show so much anger against it is beyond me.

Wouldn't it be better to develop a desktop utility that perfectly imports you iTunes library to Zune AND provides a remote for that instead?

A Zune remote control app would be brilliant.

Also, I don't understand why Microsoft uses Windows Media Player when Zune is so much better.

They should rid Windows of WMP in the next version, and make it Zune exclusively while improving it's features – media sharing over a network with other PC's through Zune would be brilliant.

Microsoft should abandon Media Player, and adopt Zune as the standard media interface for Windows. It makes no sense to maintain WMP anymore, when its essential features can be merged with the Zune property.

Once Microsoft make this move (or a merger of the 2 programs), people might just realise what a crock iTunes really is and start taking it a bit more seriously.
