Dell Venue Pro confusion continues

Customers who preordered the troubled Dell Venue Pro handset are experiencing yet more confusion. While it appears Dell are, in some cases, honouring their promise to ship handsets to early orders, there seems to be little rhyme or reason in whose handsets are being sent out: some users who ordered after December 1st have started receiving shipment notifications (and, in some cases, actual handsets) while those who ordered prior to December 1st are still left in the cold. There appears to be no pattern regarding the handsets that have been sent out – 8gb or 16gb, contract or no contract.

Have any of our readers received shipment notices or Venue Pro handsets?

I don't know but i have a feeling that there will be a CDMA version once comes January. It is coincidental that the Venue Pro is being delayed till January when WP7 will come to Verizon and Sprint

Hmm, I dunno, they don't really have to wait do they? I don't know if they have to change anything hardware wise to support CDMA or not so it could just be a matter of dell slapping on the newer WP7 OS version and selling them right away.

Ordered on Dec2nd and expected delivery was Dec23rd, got an email yesterday confirming it has been shipped now, WOOOOT!

Did you order the 8GB model or the 16GB model?

I ordered the 16GB model on the 6th and also have a ship date of Dec 28th. My order is still "In Production".

Ordered 2 of the 16gb on 12/1 and still showing a pushed back date of 01/10. Originally was given a 12/17 ship by date. Waiting.

I also bought two 16gb DVPs at the same time and had both pushed back to 01/10 (from 12/17). Now one is in transit (ground, not overnight as promised on the Dell Blog), but the other is still "in production" and due in on 01/10. Out of the thousands of devices, they obviously ran out of units right as they got to my order. Wow. Think of the odds of that happening.
