Enable SIP-based VOIP on your HTC Phone
Its not widely known, but like many Nokia smartphones Windows Mobile also supports SIP-based VOIP natively. Of course most carriers would rather not sell you a phone than sell you one with VOIP enabled. XDA-Dev has, as usual, come to the rescue and has released a single cab file that will enable the hidden VOIP capability of your phone.
Simply download VOIP WM6.1 SIP Config and execute the cab, then, go to Today menu, Programs, Sip Config Tool, input your provider settings and save. Then, go to Today menu, Settings, Today, Items and check “Internet Calling”. Then, go to Today menu, Settings, Phone, Internet, and select “Only if cellular is not available” or “whenever available” according to your needs.
Softreset your phone, and after that, connect to a wifi network. You will notice that in your Today screen, the VOIP line has changed from “No service” to “Available”. If you want to make a VOIP call, click on this line, and will change to “Selected”. All the calls you make from now on will be done using your VOIP line.
You will of course need a SIP provider like www.voipbuster.com, www.justvoip.com and www.intervoip.com. This software also works with corporate Asterix servers.
A real breakthrough for this cab is that on many HTC smartphones the sound finally comes through the earphone instead of the speakerphone.
A full back-up is in order before installation, as some users have reported issues with being unable to uninstall the cab and it affecting other functionality like GPS on their devices. Read more in this thread.

This is the best news I have found thus far on the Internet! To me VoIP on my HTC was useless because of the speakerphone-only issue.
Into Tech – are you into technology?…
Cool, gonna share this….
I have a problem..
I used this CAB to unlock SIP in SE Xperia .. works fine, logged to SIP acount, but when I call someone, other side doesn’t hear me.. I tried several SIP providers with same result.. ;-(
I tried to change SIP port, but no luck.. i think 5060 work on WM.
Any idea?

Thanks for the information. SIP works perfect!
Great site.
But i have a little issue. After installing and activating SIP, QuickGPS won’t update anymore. But i still have access to the internet. Since i also use QuickGPS for TomTom, it’s very annoying that i have to wait about 10 minutes before i have a GPS fix.
Is there someone who had this problem also and found the solution? HTC is not willing to support. They say, i have to choose between SIP or QuickGPS. I want them both!
Btw: after a hard reset QuickGPS is working again, but then i can’t use SIP anymore.
Hope someone has the solution for me and the rest of the world.
@John
I used to have the same problem and I downloaded a certain (modified) version from x-developers website and I had no problems using the gps updater afterwords. Give it a try

I have HTC HD2 and i need a program, i can pay lots of money for that program and it is easy and so useful. If we use voip phone we need high speed internet, but if we use nonoh we dont need internet we can just use GPRS and GPRS is very cheap in China. I can use nonoh but it is very difficult to find numbers in phone and write them to nonoh website. I need a program which one just copy that blank and write numbers in that blank. If any one know please contact me.

If you have issue with one way audio (the calee or you don't hear the voice) it might be a NAT issue, try to enable the outbound proxy or the STUN server.
I believe there are some STUN server avallabilities..
