Evernote coming to Windows Phone 7 soon

At the moment I actually carry two phones around – my HTC 7 Trophy and my old HTC HD2 running WM 6.5. The only reason I am still carrying the beast around is due to the lack of a good note-keeping app on Windows Phone 7 (curse you Phatnotes!)

It seems that this problem may not last forever however, with the Evernote podcast announcing that a client for Windows phone 7 will be making its way to Marketplace soon (around the 40 min mark). The company has apparently hired a dedicated developer, and is in the final stretch of development.

Hopefully the app will serve my needs well, and another Windows Mobile device can be retired.

Surprised that Surur is not using OneNote. It's a godsend app for my work and personal notes.

Evernote is a direct rip of OneNote. You're carrying around 6.5 for notes when OneNote is there? Sounds like fail.

Yeah, I don't know why every month or so somebody on one of these Windows Phone news/blog sites writes up a story about how badly it is hurting Windows Phone 7 to not have an EverNote app. It doesn't make sense why anybody would even think about using EverNote when OneNote on the PC is better and OneNote on Windows Phone 7 is already built-in and syncs with the PC and SkyDrive.

@Surur: Seriously?!?! You are keeping your WM6.5 phone around for "Evernote"? What is so special about Evernote that Onenote cannot provide? Cross platform support? Nah, can't be, as OneNote is supported on iPhone, Mac, oh and WM6.5.

I have about 350 notes in a phatnotes database which I need to be able to filter by criteria like "active" or "inactive" and only keep about 15 visible by default. The Onenote UI just wont cut it.

Phatnotes was specifically designed to take daily notes with e.g. the ability to easily insert the date for example. Word in the Office hub now lacks that feature for some reason

why does it matter, to people who own wp7 and dont plan on switching platforms, if evernote is multiplatform? angry birds is multiplatform too, woopti doo.

onenote integrates through onenote on windows, office web apps, and soon skydrive with mango update.

It matters because the pool of potential users is rapidly becoming multi-platform (this was the bad news last week that went Microsoft's stock down).

I just made a 'Notes' OneNote document, and pinned it to my home screen. I mean, the sync that Evernote offers, that I can understand as being necessary, but the program itself isn't better than OneNote + Word.
