Exclusive: HTC HD7 release date, pricing revealed

Thanks to a kind tipster we now know when the HTC HD7 is being released in Germany, and how much it will cost.

The Windows Phone 7 device will be released on the 42nd week of the year, confirming the 18th October release date rumoured elsewhere. The handset will cost 79 euro on O2 Germany on a 24 month 20 Euro per month contract, and 559 Euro commitment free.

The smartphone will be available in any colour as long as its black, and the price is subject to change.

I just can't believe we are less than a month away of its release and just 3 weeks away from WP7 debut and HTC HD7 hasn't even showed up! Geez! I think HTC really wants to impress everybody and blow us away with this phone. I can't wait!!! I wish we were already on October the 10th.

I believe that HTC is trying to keep the hype alive, and when it debuts, it wont have a fake crowd…like the iPhone4 debut where people applauded like they have never seen such a device before (when indeed it was leaked months before). HTC is a REAL company with REAL hardcore specs….REAL companies don't need to fake a story where their phone was left at a bar by a drunk worker. I mean, come on….do you really have to go that low to get a headline story on the news to get free publicity? Only shady companies *cough* Apple *cough* do that.

Looks good, but the €559 'commitment free' comment is incorrect. Gesamtpreis means 'Total price' and is simply the whole contract price of €79 up front then 24 months @ €20

Mind you €550- 600 should be about right for a SIM free model!
