First LG Windows Phone 7 handset to come at early as September?

lg_logoEngadget Chinese has had an interview with LG Mobile in Hong Kong at a Chinese New Year event. There they revealed that LG expects to launch a Windows Phone 7 handset between September and November.

This information has been leaked on numerous occasions from other sources, and in some ways this is just further confirmation,

The specs of the handset was however not revealed, but regular readers will recall the specs leaked by WMExperts.com, which spoke of a power-house device with a 720p screen and 10 megapixel camera, the LG Apollo.

LG mentions due to the bar on OEM’s needing to customize the UI that they need to do very little work on the handset, which should speed the device to market.

"LG mentions due to the bar on OEM’s needing to customize the UI that they need to do very little work on the handset, which should speed the device to market"

So a ton of partners eagerly sign up, and even Motorola couldn't stay loyal to Android after seeing 7. So why's everyone crying for the poor OEMs who can't "differentiate"? These guys are happy for the cost reduction; the old WinMo crowd are the ones with complaints

People seem to forget that OEMs can still differentiate their version of WP7s, I exted to see lots of "custom" tiles from different device makers.

We still have to wait for MIX to get all the details, but I think the UI we've seen so far is only something like 60% of the final version we're going to get. Remember the build shown at MWC was a early alpha, not even beta! And I think the tile system lets you do alot, and it should be quite powerful.

If LG is the first to market with a WP7s device and it looks good, if the price is good as well, then I have no problems getting one.

now that's what you would call a premium blend…

I think the device specs look about right for a device coming in september. the only spec i think will be different is the screen res.

To be honest i cant see myself buying a lg phone but the specs do look good. i hope SE make a phone with similar specs and a slide out keypad.

    • Ganondolf

in mean slide out keyboard not keypad

If it looks good and the price is right, I have no problem with a LG phone. Hell I own a pair of LG HDTVs already. Of course the diehards will wait for whatever HTC can make I'm sure.

I'm not too sure about LG myself, but I would prefer Samsung over HTC. While everyone loves them I dont like the way they release devices and basically obsolete and abandon the previous device which would not even be a year old and then receive no support. I had a much better experience with my Samsung Omnia which received updates AND enhancements from the release product. HTC has rarely provided updates to its Touch Flo software, instead putting the latest and greates on newer handsets which the fanboys will rush to.

lol your wrong on old wm users complainting many love new wm phone 7 also motorola did right thing getting rid of android because it totally sucks…just like iphone. it like saying bye bye android and iphone. now we know why many big companies prefer windows phone. yup windows phone 7 wins… and you loose.

Theres no way the Screen Resolution can be that high! Windows Phone 7 sets a confined Resolution Requirement of WVGA. Theres a high probability that these specs are wrong!

Again, I say this is fake. Why? Fairplay DRM. Why would Apple allow a Windows Phone to use Fairplay DRM? Ridiculous rumor.
