Glympse For Windows Phone-A Private Way To Share Your Location

Glympse is an awesome application I’ve been waiting for. You can share your location is real time with anyone through email or even SMS(US Only). Google Latitude/Maps offers somewhat similar service with more emphasis on location based networking whereas Glympse offers pure location sharing.

Glympse sends a link with your ongoing location to anyone via Email or SMS (US-only at this time). Best of all, the recipient doesn’t need any
special software to be able to see your location. They get a link that shows your real-time position, and optionally your speed, a message, a destination, and your ETA. And, Glympse makes it hassle free by only sharing your location for the time period you choose, and then it automatically stops.

This is neat, so I can install this on my daughters phone and if she feels like she is uncomfortable on a date she can send us her location. and dad comes charging in locked and loaded. this I’ll get.

Presumably this app will work better once Mango and its background agents are available. Right now, the app has to be running (to the exclusion of other apps) to send scheduled location updates.

I was looking forward to this app as I used it on Windows Mobile and found it very useful when going on a driving trip and to keep family members updated on my progress, etc.
