Good news: Nokia’s 6 inch phablet is about the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Mock-up

Nokia is breaking new ground with its unannounced 6 inch phablet, with many wondering if that will be the downfall of the device, relegating it to a tiny niche.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2, which has a 5.5 inch screen, has certainly proven that large-screened handsets do not automatically mean poor sales, and the good news is that Nokia appears to have managed to fit a 6 inch screen in the same size as the 5.5 inch screen of the SG Note 2.

From the recently leaked (but still unverified) picture of the handset with the Nokia Lumia 1020, we can calculate that the Nokia Lumia 1520 is about 150.5 mm x 82 mm large, which compared very favourable to the 151.1mm x 80.5 mm of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Even at that size the phone will certainly fill your hand, as seen in the mocked-up picture above, but at least the size is not completely unprecedented.

Given the new info, are more of our readers willing to take on the beast, or is it still too ridiculously large? Let us know below.
